Rest & Restraints
Andi didn’t know the bun who had just messaged her that well, but fortunately, she was a trusting bun disinclined to dwell too much on such matters. Besides, he was inviting her over to hang out!
It wasn’t that long of a trip from the gym - where she had just finished a workout and showering - over to Shibani’s house. (It probably belonged to somebody else, she dimly knew, but Shibani was the one who had invited her over, so for today it was his house).
The door was open when she got there, but Andi didn’t even notice. She’d been told that you were supposed to wait to be let in when visiting someone else’s house, and why would that change?
“Andi, you can come in, you know?”
She jumped, and looked around for the voice, and finally noticed that the door was open. Well, it had sounded like Shibani’s voice, just… muffled, so that was probably an invitation. Right?
She stepped in, depositing her gym bag on the floor, looking confusedly towards a pile of pillows, then around the room, and finally, up at the ceiling. Shibani was nowhere to be seen. Weird.
“I’m in here, silly,” Shibani said.
Turning, she finally saw him, sprawled in amongst the pile of pillows. They were similar colored enough she hadn’t really registered he was even there.
“Oh, so you are,” she said. “Hi, Shibani~”
“You look like you could use a nap,” Shibani suggested, patting pillows near them. “Or some relaxation - I always find ropes and tying them relaxing, you might too.”
Andi barely even heard the second sentence - as soon as the suggestion for a nap was given, she simply flopped face forward into the pile of pillows. As she registered there had been a second sentence, she wasn’t bothered by it. Making decisions always involved thinking, and she didn’t do that. Thinking was her best friend’s job, she just was happy to do what she was told - which, really, suggesting something was basically being told to do it. So she’d been told to nap and therefore she was going to do just that.
Shibani laughed a little at how quickly she had fallen into the pillows, seeming to find it funny. “I guess I was right. Do you always sleep like this?” He patted one of her ears.
Belatedly, Andi answered. “...no.” She shifted to turn onto her side, grinning sleepily at Shibani. “Usually I’m cuddling though!” She opened her arms to offer the option to him.
Shibani scooted over enough to cuddle in against Andi, and it wasn’t too long before the two were fast asleep.
Andi wasn’t sure how much later it was when she felt an insistent vibration against her leg. She didn’t want to wake up, so she swatted at it vaguely. It didn’t really go away, though, and slowly, she was forced to open her eyes. Very grumpy about that, she looked down towards her leg - oh, she had pants on. Why did she have pants on?
Looking around, she realized she wasn’t actually at home, and Shibani had left the room, though there was a pillow on a chair with a note with her name attached.
Forgetting the buzzing, she got up to investigate it.
‘Andi, you should try starting your own pillow pile to sleep in at home! I think you and your best friend would enjoy it! Here’s one to start with for you. Feel free to come over to nap anytime in the future too! <3 Shibani’
Another buzz from her thigh reminded her of it, and she realized when she put her hand into her pocket that it was her phone. Opening it, she had a message from her friend asking where she was and with a list of food to get for dinner. Well, the shops weren’t far from where they lived, fortunately, so she could just get that and head home.
She spotted the paper and pen that Shibani had used to write his note, entirely forgetting that she could just message him back as she had for his invitation. Carefully, she wrote a quick thank you for the pillow, and left the note on the table.
Then, she slung her gym bag over her shoulder and torso to wear it like a crossbody, picked up the pillow, and headed back out - though not without a glance back at the pillow pile. Maybe after dinner, when her best friend inevitably fell asleep again, she could go back out and look at more pillows… Well, as long as her friend didn’t have any other orders for after dinner, of course.
