Training Montage | Cheerleading Buddy
Cheerleading wasn't exactly the first thing you thought of when you thought of talents for an imp. Especially since a lot of cheerleading implied for a creature to not only have hands, but the ability to stand on their hind legs. The idea of some of the imps fitting both of those categories was unnerving enough. However, there was a way for an imp to go about cheerleading without looking like a complete horror show. It was somehow a bit too obvious that Emery would be the one to find this out. They were always the type to be passionate and stubborn when he put his mind to something- and it didn't take long after he got Prynkez before they started to train them to do his favorite activity- cheer. He wanted to prove that the pedigree imps could have a lot of talent, and definitely more talent than an imp that's only being fed boring food all of the time.
Immediately, the first part of the trick had to do with the Stroodle standing up on their hind legs without getting hurt or feeling uncomfortable. Imps didn't have bones, so that was a good start on that matter. In fact, It seemed that the imp was excited to stand up on their hind legs. That might have been concerning to someone else, but to Emery, it was just something that their imp wanted to try- and who was he to question that? The actual training of that portion of the trick went extremely quickly, again, almost concerningly quickly- but again, Emery didn't question how easily their imp decided to stand up on two legs. It was a little bit odd, yes, but they weren't in any pain and seemed to be having fun.
The second part of the trick was getting the canine-shaped imp to hold a set of pom-poms. Thankfully, Emery had sets of all sizes and colors, giving the chance for the imp to pick what set of pom-poms they wanted to try and hold. Of course, Prynkez chose the pink ones, causing a little smile to appear on Emery's face. It took a while to figure out how to get the stroodle to hold the pom-poms. The only thing at the end of their legs were little puffs, so it almost seemed like an impossible task. However, where there are complications, there are solutions- and Emery could out how to get the pom-pom effect without needing Prynkez to hold the decorative cheer devices. It took only a few seconds of styling before Prynkez's front paws were just as puffy as the pom-poms that Emery would be holding.
Now, the difficult part- the choreography. Emery wasn't exactly good at trying to put together cheer routines with another succubun, let alone an imp. Most of the time they would just cheer on their own and go with the flow. However, they couldn't just leave Prynkez to their own devices without some kind of assistance. And so Emery did their best to present some of the basic moves of cheer that would be put together in a routine, while encouraging Prynkez to work around him and with him at the same time- giving examples with their hands and poms. The imp nodded, seemingly understanding what the other was saying despite not speaking succubun language. Emery knew that this wouldn't be easy, and it might not even end well, but this was just their first try- they could always improve later on.
However, surprisingly, it wasn't horrible. As Emery began to move and cheer quietly to himself, Prynkez would do similar movements opposite to them, making a synchronized impromptu cheer routine. Emery moved their poms to the left, Prynkez moved their paws to the right. When Emery cheered up, Prynkez cheered downwards, making sure to place themself in front of Emery. Despite it being rather simple, it was still in fact cheering. Prynkez even gave out little barks of delight in synch with Emery's soft cheers under their breath. It encouraged the succubun to cheer louder, until the two of them were happily jumping around and cheering at the top of their lungs.
It may have been messy, and it may have been a little annoying to any bystanders who might have been walking by while the two of them cheered, but it was certainly some kind of training, and the two of them were happy. And wasn't the imp's happiness the whole point of this whole contest? Sure the point was which team trained their imps the best... but that wasn't what they were fighting about, were they?
At least for now the stroodle and the lust succubun could ignore the questions and the stress of the actual contest, putting all of their heart, mind, and soul into their cheers and their movements.
