Midicus snapped his head around as soon as Quince ran up to him, grabbing him by the shoulders and turning him around. "Midicus, what the FUCK is that noise?" She asked, desperation in her voice. "Why the SHIT do I hear a baby crying!?" Midicus looked a bit shocked, his pupils small and his mouth in a very intense-looking frown of panic. As a response, he held up what he had in his hands, A tiny blue and white sceil that stared back at Quince with big blue eyes. "Midicus, that is a baby sceil, which- fair- is a baby, but baby imps don't make that noise."

As if to prove her wrong right then and there, Ekans extended their little body and closed their eyes, making the exact noise that had caused Quince to panic in the first place. In response, Midicus put his other hand over the loud little creature. Quince looked towards Midicus, horrified. "Why does your baby imp sound like a real baby..." She paused, giving a look of sudden discomfort. "Please don't tell me that's what they do." The pride bun was quick to reassure her that crying like a baby, was not, in fact, Ekans' special sceil talent. "Well actually, their talent is noise replication. As long as it's not singing or speaking, they can replicate most noises that can be heard in the natural world!" "And you made them cry?"

Midicus didn't know how to explain that bit with words, so instead he simply held up his phone, which clearly showed that he had just finished a call with... Mercy. Now the pieces were clicking together. Poor Midicus had been trying to train when suddenly Mercy decided to give him a call. Being the polite boy he was, he picked up the call only to hear that they were in the bunnery with plenty of crying babies in the background. Ekans attached to that noise and continued to repeat it even after the call ended. With that cleared up, Quince let go of Midicus, giving a small apology as she moved back a little. "Oh, it's fine. I would probably freak out if I heard a baby bun crying all the way out here too. Since, you know. Logically doesn't make any sense." He shrugged, though he was starting to smile now as opposed to that terrified frown from before. "But! Good part about this is that now you can watch Ekans mimic another sound! How about a breeze going through leaves? Or maybe the sound of the Forneus Sea's waves crashing on the shoreline?"

Quince thought for a moment as Midicus tapped away on his phone. "How about the shoreline? That sounds calming... and complex." She decided, and not a moment later Midicus had a video of exactly that pulled up on his phone, his other hand still holding Ekans gently. He pointed the phone towards the tiny imp, making a small whistling noise with his mouth to turn the sceil's attention towards the phone. Once their eyes were locked on the screen, Midicus played the video.

Slowly but surely, as the sound of the video was processed and understood, the small sceil started to replicate the sound of the water, slowly moving as they got into the groove of the noise and repeating it back at the video, matching everything from the volume to the complex mixtures of noises. Midicus stopped the video suddenly, leaving only the noise of Ekans' noise replication. Quince barely even noticed that the original audio had stopped. It sounded almost exactly the same, and the small differences still sounded natural.

With this calmer subject matter, Quince could really appreciate the way that the sceil could sound so exactly like the world around it. How did an imp even learn something like that? Honestly, at this point she should just learn not to ask questions- the other ones had been able to be questioned at least a little bit, but with that she had just experienced, there were no answers that would soothe her soul- so it would be better if she just enjoyed the sounds of the ocean for a bit...

Even if those sounds were coming from a strange, small baby sceil.
