[Gift] Reverie's Burrow
Ever controlled by their rampant fatigue and drowsiness, Reverie was inclined to prioritize comfort over most other aspects in their burrow, but this did not prevent it from being carefully arranged to their preferences. A relatively small space, the air carries the distinct smell of incense, with a touch of burnt sage. The far corner is dominated by a cozy nest, an ever-shifting arrangement of bedding shifted and slightly re-arranged with nearly every rest taken there.
It is a rather eclectic assortment of items, made of many colors, textures, and sizes. While Reverie's favorite colors of deep blues dominated, alongside patterns that are in some way reminiscent of the sky, that is not exclusively what one can find there.
At the middle of this nest was an dip in the arrangement of pillows, rather succubun-shaped and obviously Reverie's current favored spot. Resting here is a soft yellow pillow, shaped into a crescent moon. Plenty large enough for them to rest their head on while in doll form, but still large enough to accommodate comfortable lounging in bun form. Tucked alongside it is a plush blanket, dotted with the many phases on the moon and many speckled stars. Despite being light weight, it is pleasantly warm when slept under.
On the opposite wall is a large window, allowing for streams of sunlight into the room. In front, a cozy window seat, covered with yet more soft pillows and blankets, and exactly the right size if one happened to doze off while gazing outside of it. This window is flanked by thick curtains, currently pulled apart to allow light within the space, but dense enough to allow for a darkened room should one wish.
The arch of the wall above the window nook is decorated with delicate metal, thin strands of silver shaped into the moon and stars, with a golden sun pinned to the wall directly above the highest point of the curved window. The metal curve inside the shape, filling what would otherwise be empty space with swirled patterns.
Next to the window seat sits an altar, the wooden table a hand carved piece not quite to the point where it looks old, but certainly on it's way. A large mat is atop it, tightly woven from small, flexible reeds. Pleasing to the eye, yet easy to clean. The need for such a characteristic becomes obvious once one looks more closely at the reed mat, candle wax from the altar's last use resting upon it, alongside more ingrained stains from old oils.
The gathering of candle across the altar themselves are an eclectic mix of length, thickness, and color, with the candle holders having nearly as much variety. Cooled wax is frozen on its journey down on many of the candles, the wicks black with soot.
In the center of the altar, with candles clustered around, is a statuette of a masculine demonic figure. A depiction of Murmur, intricately carved, to a rather impressive degree when taking into account the rather small size of the piece.. In a small, curved bowl held by his hands is the dusty remnants of spent herbs and incense from past rituals, coating Murmur's fingers as the small crevices can be difficult to clean thoroughly enough to remove all debris completely.
Spread across the table in front of the wooden figure of Murmur is a deck of tarot cards, most face down. The backs of the cards are a deep blue, with golden lines depicting the sun, moon and stars. The only laying face up is the Hanged Man, the round bun form of a succubun dangling from a rope wrapped around one leg, tail dangling beside them. Despite their position, the bun doesn't seem distressed at their predicament.
Strewn around the rest of the altar are two small wooden bowls, just large enough to fit within a bun's small hands. One is still damp from the last of the water that had filled it, the other containing a small pile of salt. Next to the bowl is a silver athame, a highly decorated ritual knife. It currently rests within a sheathe, but should one examine it closer, they would find that the knife seems to still be razor sharp, a small sign of it's frequent disuse.
