Carpe Diem: Seas The Day
For Kohara, being out and about in the mid to early morning was rare. At this time, xe would normally be home, either sleeping or close to it. But today was different. Taho had managed to convince them to go out.
Not only that, but bun convinced Kohara to go to the beach, with the promise of a friendly chat, and maybe some popsicles.
Just the idea of getting Taho's homemade popsicles already made their mouth water. She was certainly their favorite cook.
Finding bun in the beach wasn't hard. All Kohara had to do was look in the direction that tons of buns were gawking at. Xe couldn't blame them, Taho was as incredibly beautiful as always, now highlighted by the new swimsuit bun wore.
They approached bun, one hand snapping one of the crisscrossing strips at buns side to call buns attention. The action made bun squeak and abruptly turn, more than ready to berate whoever dared touch bun so casually.
Seeing Kohara instead, bun visage brightened immediately. Buns smile was wide as bun greeted them with an excited 'Kohara!' and a tight one armed hug.
Kohara let themselves melt in their friend's embrace. Taho smelled as sweet, and soft as the snack bun was named after. Bun skin was warm and Kohara found that they were incredibly comfortable in buns embrace.
Taho let them go, and raised bun arm, bringing Kohara's attention to the large bag bun was carrying.
"I have kites!" Bun exclaimed, "And sweets! Including that chocolate and caramel bomb that you love."
Looking bun straight in the eyes, Koharu declared, "I love you. You're my favorite." To which Taho just laughed.
Bun looked at him, and shyly asked, "Did you get it?"
Proudly, Kohara nodded, "Yes, of course! Anything for my favorite customer."
Beaming, Taho lead the way as they, catching up on each other's lives and sharing gossip amongst themselves while they looked for a good spot to settle down and enjoy the beach.
Finding it didn't take too long. Their beach towels were spread one beside the other, and they settled down, with Taho quickly putting down the spread of treats bun prepared.
Kohara's eyes feasted upon the snacks. Sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, mini pies, and a thermal bag with what xe knew were popsicles inside.
Mouth salivating, they reached for a lemon pie, eyes closing as soon as it reached their mouth, and let out a decidedly inappropriate moan at the taste. Xe could hear Taho snicker as bun ate some cookies.
"So?" Bun asked, "How does it taste?"
Kohara opened their eyes, showcasing how they were wet with tears.
"Tastes like paradise, as always, Taho." Xe spoke, going for a second bite of pie. Their mouth was still full when they asked, "Will you mate me for life now?"
Taho choked on the cookies.
Having eaten over half of what Taho had brought, Kohara and bun settled with popsicles, enjoying the sound of the waves hitting the shore, and the overall beach atmosphere.
The popsicles were quickly melting, but they were quicker still at eating them, savoring every drop that fell in their skin. Once they were done, Taho delicately rummaged through buns bag, pulling out a pair of kites, long and colorful, like caterpillars.
Taho got up, batting buns eyelashes and offering Kohara a hand, "Can we play a little?"
"Like I would ever say no to you, Taho."
Together, they played, letting their kites soar in the sky. Kohara still kept an eye on their belongings, longing for when xe would go home with the leftovers.
"Did you have any trouble finding what I asked for?" Taho prompted.
Kohara just looked at bun, eyebrow raised, "When have I ever had trouble getting you anything?" Xe made a move, pulling their kite more to the left so it wouldn't tangle with Taho's, "Besides, out of everyone's requests, yours are the easiest to find. High grade kitchen utensils aren't rare, after all."
Taho hummed, "I'm glad to hear that! Because I've been thinking of getting into chocolate sculpting and-"
"Say no more," Kohara interrupted, "Actually, say more, I don't know what you need, but trust that I'll get it."
Taho smiled wide, excitedly going into detail about chocolate sculpting, the tools needed, and making plans to make a life sized Kohara shaped chocolate sculpture as a gift.
The idea was too delicious for Kohara to even try and change buns mind. It's why they didn't notice the mischievous glint in Taho's eyes.
"I wonder which part of your sculpture Miyeon will want? Your lips? Your chest? Or your-" Before Taho could finish, Kohara slammed a hand on bun mouth, face warm at the image of Miyeon licking chocolate stained lips…
"Shut up!" Xe shouted, embarassed.
Taho just laughed, "This is a no to a Kohara and Miyeon kissing sculpture then? Aww- Hey! My kite!" Bun scowled. While Taho had been busy teasing them for xyr eternal crush, Kohara took the opportunity to swiftly cut Taho's kite thread, and now they both watched as it slowly descended.
"It better not fall on the sea, or no chocolate for you."
"NOOO! TAHO, FORGIVE ME-" Kohara's desperate cries echoed as xe kept trying to change Taho's mind.
“If I were you, I’d focus on rescuing my kite instead of crying!”
They attracted the attention of other beach goers, but they were both too busy in their friendly squabble to notice.
All in all, it was quite a successful beach day.
Much could be said about them, but the truth is that Kohara would do anything for their friend. That includes going to the beach ridiculously early.
