[YOTB] Mochi Borrowing - Hutch

     With the strawberries and the matcha in Dan’s possession, it only made sense to Shibani to try and go after the last flavour type of mochi that could possibly be made: black sesame seeds. It was somewhat known to him that Hutch uses those to train imps. This time Shibani decided he wasn’t going to bother Boss or Hellion for help on this matter. He’s helped Hutch before, he’s gotta give him some as a favour right? In any case, Shibani gave Dan a big ol’ hug and skedaddled out of his kitchen then headed to the Imporium.

     As he was getting there, he spotted an imp just— wandering about. It was a decent ways away from the Imporium. It made him wonder why it was just out here. Maybe it was a wild one? Shibani very cautiously and gently tried getting the imp to come to him. At first, it looked like it was about to run away again but it then warmed up to Shibani’s soft tone of voice and eventually allows itself to be picked up by Shibani. “Aw, you’re just a little guy aren’t you? Yeah, you are— let’s get you home!” This guy seemed docile enough, though sometimes it would try to come out of his grasp, like it was being beckoned by something or someone.

     He carried on and soon he saw someone else heading to the Imporium, a very tall woman who had several of the same imo in her arms. Shibani was definitely perplexed. Did these imps escape or something? Maybe with Mochi Moon coming closer and closer, it was making imps come into Burrowgatory more? Either way, maybe this lady knew what was up and Shibani decided to approach her.

     “Ah— Heya!! Sorry to bother but are you heading to the Imporium with all those imps?” She looked over at him looking a little surprised, it sounded like she was humming then almost being taken off guard with him coming up to her. She smiled warmly at Shibani, “Hey, yeah I am. I’m assisting Hutch right now, a bunch of Lunell’s escaped from the building so grabbed up the ones I could find. Thanks for catching one too! Are you an intern as well?” He was very delighted in hearing her out, she seemed super kind. There’s no wondering why she’s definitely got a bunch more in her hands than he does. “I’m not an intern but I do know Hutch personally! Was heading there to ask him something so let’s walk together!” The two of them nodded at each other and continued up the way to the imp shop. “My name is Pluto by the way!” “Shibani, pleasure to meet you!” The walk was quite relaxing, especially with the humming Pluto went on doing again.

     The moment the door opened, the hysterical sounds of Hutch are heard as he tries to wrangle several Lunell’s on leashes with one hand then trying grab more of them with the other hand. Pluto immediately goes to pet boxes with open gates to deposit the Lunells she was holding then going over to help Hutch. Shibani for a moment was just lost in all the craziness of the situation— but gets into gear as well and puts away the Lunell he was holding. “Oh thank heavens, Pluto you got them back!! S-Shibani??? Ahh there’s no time to explain, please help!!” 

     The situation was mostly clear to him. Those remaining Lunells are just going all over the place. But he had an easy time counting how many were left. One… Two… There were five more. Four of them were on leashes while Pluto was chasing the one that was running around. Shibani thought hard, what could calm down these rowdy Lunells? Imps really love sweet things like dangos, but he really didn’t have any on him. The next best thing on his mind was perhaps holding them like he did the first one? He didn’t wait to sort it out mentally, Shibani went after the ones that Hutch had on leashes. Slowly plucking each, one by one— then he goes onto start shushing and cuddling them. Hoping this would calm them down, Pluto sought to take this opportunity to open other vacant pet boxes for the Lunells to be placed in. She got another idea to start humming a soothing tune, just like she did for the ones she caught outside of the Imporium.

     Sure enough, the Lunells all start to settle and then eventually go to sleep from all the cuddling and humming. Hutch was amazed but only for a moment to start putting away all the others. Finally, all the Lunells were skittering about or sleeping in their comfy carriers and boxes. “Boy that was a mess… Thank you both, Pluto and Shibani! Oh wait, have you two met? Pluto, this is—“ she waved a hand at him and smiled, “We met outside but I believe Shibani said he needed to ask something of you?” He blinked at the both of them and then blurted out an ‘OH YEAH!’ Shibani would go on to tell Hutch about the Mochi Moon situation Dan was having and was wondering if he could have some of his training seeds. “Oh? The black sesame seeds? Hmm, I shouldn’t really be giving that away since it’s for the imps but since you did help me (which I appreciate dearly) I’d be more than willing to give you some! I owe you another favour Shibani, I swear!” Hutch turned to say thank you to Pluto as well, though she replied with ‘it’s my job, hehe!’ And goes to get the back for Hutch.

     Shibani gives both Hutch and Pluto big hugs, wishing them a fantastic night and Mochi Moon. After that he ran as fast as he could to give Dan the final component to the best mochis Dan can make!!!
