life's a beach, indeed
"That's a horrible idea," her roommate deadpanned.
"It's a wonderful idea!"
Kohara pinched the bridge of their nose. "Miyeon–"
"Don't 'Miyeon' me, I'm right–"
"There's plenty of other ways to get someone's attention." Kohara's eyes roamed over her skimpy gold bikini. "With the way you look right now, it should be a lot easier too."
There was an edge of jealousy in her roommate’s tone that Miyeon couldn't quite make sense of. Hara has a lovely body, xe shouldn't be jealous! Instead of pressing for answers, however, she continued to defend her master plan. "But this is so much more romantic!"
Her roommate sighed the way xe always did when they were about to let Miyeon get her way. "Fine, but just…be careful, please."
Miyeon giggled excitedly before giving Kohara a big hug. "Wish me luck," she shouted as she ran towards the waters of the Forneus Sea.
As far as she was concerned, her plan was fool-proof. The steps were so simple even an imp could pull it off: once she got to the deep part of the ocean, she would suddenly forget how to swim. Noticing her struggle, a kind (and hopefully attractive) bun would come to her rescue, carrying her to shore and laying her on the sand before performing mouth to mouth resuscitation. Out of gratitude, she would reward her hero with a hug.
Honestly, what is Hara so worried about; this is the perfect scenario!
As she enjoyed the feeling of cool water against her skin, Miyeon surveyed the buns on the shore in search of her potential hero before settling on a turquoise bun with clouds at the bottom of his ears helping a group set up a volleyball net.
Miyeon was familiar with the fellow florist, Ren, but their interactions were few and far between. Still, she was aware of his knack for helping others from being on the receiving end before. Surely he would rescue a damsel in distress!
Once she reached deeper waters, Miyeon began to flail around, slowly becoming more frantic.
"Help!" She shouted, hoping to alert Ren. "Oh, please, Re– someone, help me!"
Unfortunately for her, her pleas went unheard, drowned out by the sound of water splashing and buns laughing. As time went on and her limbs became tired, Miyeon truly began to struggle.
"Help, please!" She cried out in earnest, but it only made it easier for water to get into her mouth.
Okay, maybe Hara was right, was the last thought she had before feeling herself being held in the arms of Death.

Thankfully for Miyeon, rather than Death carrying her to her afterlife, Ren pulled her to shore.
"Fuck, is she okay!?" Someone asked as he performed CPR.
Ren ignored the question, instead trying to get the favorable result. After a few more chest compressions and breaths into her mouth, Miyeon sat up, sputtering as she coughed up the water in her lungs.
"Wh–" she started, looking to see Ren and Kohara standing by her with relieved expressions. Oh, right. She drowned.
"How are you feeling?" Ren asked as Kohara shouted, "Miyeon, what the fuck!?"
"I'm okay," she answered more for Kohara's peace of mind after catching her breath.
"What a relief," Ren seemed to answer sincerely. "You should probably go home, Miyeon. Get some rest."
Neglecting her initial plan, Miyeon meekly thanks Ren with a soft smile before accepting Kohara's hand to help her up.
As they walked away together to go get their stuff, Miyeon noticed the scowl on her friend's face.
"Are you mad at me?"
"Of course I'm mad at you, you nearly got yourself killed even though I told you–"
Miyeon wrapped her arms around Kohara's shoulders. "I know, I'm sorry, Hara."
Kohara huffed as they wrapped an arm around Miyeon's waist. "...I'm glad you're okay."
"Me too!"
Kohara snorted at Miyeon's cheerfulness. "Let's go home. We can watch a movie."
"Can I pick?"
"Anything but Titanic."
Miyeon giggled. Despite her plan failing horrifically, she still felt like she won in the end.
this goes without saying but PLEASE don't follow miyeon's plan
