Nap Time

Emi’s never been too close to the back of Dan’s dango. It never really occurred to them to go close to that area considering it always seemed like someone else’s private space—what with the massive piles of pillows and what not—but today the massive pillow pile seemed rather welcoming, beckoning even. So with a curious heart Emi decided to go take a look, just a peek perhaps. It wouldn’t take too long and if it really was someone’s private space they could quickly leave just as quickly as they came. She didn’t want to be rude at the end of the day but curiosity got the better of her, so to the big soft pile she went.

As it turns out there was already a different bun sleeping in the pile. The white fur and bright red ropes made it quite obvious who it was. It was Shibani, not that Emi knew him all that well though. Emi tilted her head to stare at the snoozing bunny sleeping within the pile of pillows, being as careful as she could to not wake up the bun. Unfortunately despite her best efforts the bunny stirred and Emi quickly lowered her head to apologize. The white bun stared up at her through drowsy eyes, letting out a long yawn before flipping right back over. He still blinked a few times at her though.

“Are you here for a nap too?“ Shibani mumbled.

“Eh?” 

“A nap.” The white bun yawned again. “The pile is very comfortable for that…” he lazily patted the spot beside him like he was inviting Emi to join him.

“Oh, well um…okay then.” The purple bun struggled her way towards Shibani—slowly wading through the soft sea of pillows—and hesitantly laid herself down in a cozy spot next to Shibani. It was a lot more comfortable than she expected and she felt her whole body gently sink into the big fluffy pile. Immediately she felt incredibly sleepy, like the pillows had cast a spell on her as soon as she decided to walk all over their domain. She yawned and turned over to look at how Shibani was doing but the bun had already fallen asleep by the time she settled down. 

Now that she thought about it, was Shibani just always napping at the back of Dan’s Dango this whole time? Did he just live here? How did she not notice that before? Well that all didn’t matter anymore since laying in the majestic pillow pile just continued to drain all her energy away. She didn’t even really remember what she was doing before getting here, but all of those thoughts can wait. Shibani had shifted again in his sleep and was now snuggled right up against Emi, and the sleepiness of the white bun was absolutely infectious. Emi quietly closed her eyes as she hugged a nearby pillow close to her chest and gently drifted off to sleep herself.

The rest of the world can wait a little bit, she’ll be back after a nap.
