[Levi]: Water Wars

“Levi-” Markus sighs, tying up the last of the water balloons. Levi had insisted they “go out and do something” again today, and Markus did not put up without complaints. Why was it so hard to just cuddle and be indoors??? In fairness though, the days were hotter than usual, and Levi and Markus always found themselves kicking away the sheets in order to cool down even just a little bit. Levi’s plan for today’s date, would be to play with water balloons, which was such a childish idea yet Markus loved him for it. Levi always wound up with such different ideas for dates, it always kept Markus on his toes. They had done pottery together, gone to secret bars, went on a tour, made pastries, and many more. These dates sure ended up making markus expend more energy than he was used to but… Any time with Levi, was a good time. At the end of the day, he was always happy to come along.

Markus looks at his work, the mini pile of water balloons sitting at his feet. He had filled up so many, he tried to count them all accurately but they were all just more or less on top of each other. “There, I think I made at least fifteen of these thi-”

SPLASH!

Markus is hit by a balloon straight to the back of his head, causing him to lurch forward slightly in surprise. He whips around to see Levi clutching his stomach, laughing happily. It was rare to see Levi smile so openly, let alone laugh. But here he was, just the two of them, a playful grin on his face. 

“Fourteen! There are fourteen now!” he exclaims, tail wagging playfully as he watches Markus with a gleam in his eyes. Markus smirks. Fucker.

Markus picks up a balloon while watching Levi cautiously. Just as he is about to aim, another balloon lands on top of him with a splatter, dousing him once more. Levi’s Bimble, Denim had decided to join the war and launch one right as Markus was distracted! Levi howls with laughter, wiping away happy tears while his imp does a little victory lap around their small garden. 

Quickly wiping the water out of his face, he launches a balloon right at Levi who tries his best to duck, but the water snags on his horn and bursts on top of him. Before Levi can even recover though, Markus pushes forward suddenly and tackles him to the ground, both of them landing on the soft grass with a thud. “Eat it, eat it!!” Levi teases, pushing a balloon to Markus’ face. Markus laughs himself, grabbing Levi’s wrists and pinning them over his head. 

“You, sir. Have waged a war against the wrong person.” Markus muses, watching Levi laugh and struggle under him. Levi reaches up and kisses him softly on the lips. He looks up at Markus with a mischievous expression.

“You may have won the battle. But I won the war.”
