Dan the Ong! oh!!
Dangos! dang them oh's! dan the ongs! dangos! This silly song thought was going through eliza's head the entire time she walked her way to Dan's dango's. She heard amazing things through the grapevine aka she eavesdropped by accident when she fell asleep standing and returned to interesting conversations so with carat's jingling in their little satchet they were ready to try out some dango and enjoy it to her hearts content! but what is a dango anyway? is it like mochi? is mochi just dango but on a stick? are the sticks edible? the random curious questions in her mind kept them occupied the entire time until they realized they had arrived at the shop. Wooooow! it was so amazing and neat looking, they really liked the aesthetic and her favorite thing in the store was the sleeping bun on a pile of pillows, those pillows looked so comfy~
Comfy enough that they wanted to ask for permission to join the other but the curious steady thwack...thwack...thwack- had their ear lifting up and following the sound, how curious! how loud! what was making that noise? oh she just had to find out more than sleep as her curiosity lead her life, her lust for satisfying it was so gratifying as they followed the steady rhythm to the back of the shop. There she saw one of the most buff bunnies pounding a mallet? hammer? whatever it was into a bowl like thing, something was being made making her hide poorly to watch this mesmerizing sight- oh the look of those amazing bulging muslces, the thingie pounding into the doughy mush, the thwack sound. It was all so amazingly beautiful they had to try it out but how, luckily they didn't have to think on that for long.
The bun that was pounding the heck out of that mushy stuff spotted them and shouldered their mallet with a small huff "Who the hell are you and what are you doing spying on me?" they asked in a somewhat rude tone but they reasoned because it looked like they were spying and that they didn't announce their arrival it was ok that they were being prickly with her. She showed herself fully and with a slight tappy tap of their hoof to their chin they tried to explain what her thoughts but it came out a jumbled jargony mess making the other confused "come again?" right! think carefully and slowly!
Eliza cleared their throat and puffed out their chest to do this properly "My name is Eliza and I wanted to try some of this dango, i kept hearing amazing things about it and decided to try it today, they kept raving about how good it was and i'm a sucker for good food and treats!" there was a slight darkening of the blue bunny's cheeks but they didn't notice as they cleared their throat this time "Well...i'm dan and i'm making the dango" Eliza clapped saying that it was amazing how it was made "i know, it's amazing how dango is created start to finish you see..."
Dan went into describing the process of how mochi, which is how the treat is started off as- is made and showed off their strong lil bun bod by thwacking it with his mallet in a steady even rhythm which made the other clap happily at their process of perfection that they had practed for many a year. "...Could i give it a try?" Eliza asked making the other le tout a quiet lil scoff but seeing as they complimented him the entire time they let out a sigh and agreed to it "but you can't whine if i criticize you or cry! you can't cry either" they stated plainly.
No problem they weren't hurt by words but actions more like as they took hold of the mallet "whoa no wonder you look so strong it's cause you are! this thing is heeeeeavyyyy" they lifted the mallet up with both lil paws and raised it up high "aaaaaa" spoinky smack, it barely even touched the mochi with force "....that was bad" dan said after a moment of awkward silence but eliza took his words of advice to heart and kept trying to pound the mochi with his help.
It took a bit but the batch of dango they made was finally done and they were covered in powder that was tossed in to keep the mochi from sticking completely to the mallet, dan offered them a bite of the treat they had created making them let out a happy noise "mmm~ your recipe is amazing! it tastes sooo goooood" Dan puffed out his chest a bit "i know" he stated matter of factly as he knew it but loved hearing how good it was.
"Shibani" the bun in the pillow pile yawned lazily and looked over "ring them up they got an order ready" still dusty from the mochi dango powder the other held up a box of their own hand made goodies as the one named shibani lazily tippy tappy walked their way over to the cash register, they sleepily stared at the buttons before slowly pressing each button and handing over the receipt "thanks for shopping at dan's dangos" they yawned out before making their way back to the pillow pile, treats in hand eliza was glad that they made an effort to go and seek out this shop even if the way there was full of a really whacky yet relatable adventure "thanks again dan! i'll come by next time to hear more about your expert handling" they only nodded and resumed working, dan's dangos have been procured now its time to go home as they hummed the silly song from earlier before singing it softly out loud to themselves "dangos~ dang them oh's~ dan the ongos! dan dan dan~ ongongong goooooos".
