New Year, New Beginnings

“Can you imagine it’s already been a year since we got here?” Sariel asks, sitting on a large, pastel colored, plaid blanket placed on the ground at the top of a large hill that overlooks most of Burrowgatory; as she leans against Cassardis, lighting two sparklers and handing one to him.

“Can we really say we’ve been here a year when we got here a few months ago?” Cassardis asks, taking the sparkler and holding it away from himself as he wraps his arm around Sariel’s waist, their tails entwined with each other’s.  Sariel nodded, holding her sparkler away from herself. “I think so since it was still during that year silly.” She says, staring at her sparkler before humming softly and carefully waving it in the air. “Speaking of this year, what are your plans? I’m not really sure I have any yet.” Sariel says, humming softly.

Cassardis chuckled, gently rubbing Sariel’s arm as he leaned his head against hers. “To be honest, I don’t have any plans for this year. I’m just happy we managed to get set up as soon as we did. Staying in that apartment wasn’t awful but, being able to make as much noise as we want is much better than worrying about our neighbors constantly hearing us.” He replies, gazing at his own sparkler. “What about you, princess? Do you have any plans for this year?” Cassardis asks curiously, gently stroking Sariel’s hair.

Sariel shook her head. “Not really.” She replied, eyebrows furrowing in thought. “I’m kind of debating if I should stay a priestess or not though.”

“Really? It’s not because of me is it?” Cassardis asked, a bit of concern in his voice, knowing how he could be with her.

Sariel shook her head. “Oh no, it’s not anything you did I promise!” She exclaimed, leaning in and quickly kissing him for reassurance. “I just don’t know if I want to continue doing it or not. I don’t mind helping people and listening to their confessions but lately, I’ve just been considering… becoming a homebody instead.”

Cassardis stared at Sariel for a moment, “You mean a housewife?” He asks curiously, his eyebrow raised, a smirk spreading across his face.  “Why Sariel, I didn’t expect you to consider yourself my wife already. And after we just started dating no less.” He chuckled, watching a blush spread across his lover’s face.

“I…I-It’s not like that!” Sariel exclaimed, looking away as the blush on her face deepened. “I just… I just thought that maybe it would be better to just be an attendee of the church now that’s all!” She says, waving her arms before covering her face. “B-but… I guess possibly becoming your wife wouldn’t be a bad thing…” She whispered, gasping as she caught herself and covered her mouth, her cheeks warming. “I-I mean… becoming your wife eventually! N-not this year! I-it’s too soon~!” Sariel quickly added, groaning loudly as she once again covered her face.

Cassardis stared at Sariel for a long time, a large grin replacing that sly smirk of his. He chuckled, then set the sparkler down, and sat upright, reaching out and gently taking Sariel’s wrists, prying her hands from her face and gazing into her solid, light blue eyes. “I was joking.” Cassardis tells her, reaching up and placing his hands upon her cheeks. “But, hearing you say that you wouldn’t mind being my wife someday makes me really happy.” Cassardis says, gently rubbing Sariel’s cheek with thumb. “If you want to try being a housewife, I’ll support you. Hells, even if you decide that you don’t want to be a housewife and do something else, you’ll always have my full support.” Cassardis told Sariel as he caressed her cheek. “I just want you to be happy.” He added, placing his forehead against hers and rubbing noses before stealing a kiss.

Sariel giggled softly, rubbing her nose against his and returning the kiss. The soft sound of purring catching both their ears as she rubbed her cheek against Cassardis’ hand. “I love you, Cassardis. You’re so good to me, sometimes I wonder if I even really deserve you.” Sariel says, gazing into his eyes. “I’m not complaining though. You make me really happy and I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad you’re mine.” She says, leaning in and kissing him deeply, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Cassardis chuckled and wrapped his arm around Sariel’s waist, returning the kiss and slipping his tongue into her mouth, their tongues seeming to dance with each other, their moans of satisfaction mixing together; only to be separated by the sound of fireworks going off behind them.

“Oh! The fireworks started!” Sariel exclaimed, grabbing another sparkler and lighting it, holding up in the air and waving it around as the fireworks went off.

Cassardis chuckled, picking up his own sparkler and wrapping his arms around Sariel’s waist after lighting it, holding it close to her sparkler. “Happy Mochi Moon, kitten. Let’s make this year amazing for the both of us.”
