Wreaths and Vines

    The little orange bun giggled as she ran around her small home. Well… Small in terms of a bun in doll form. But Bundeva enjoyed how much huger all the space seemed when she was in her bun form. She could be her bouncy hyper self without fear of breaking anything in the house while she was this size. Anywho~ She ran through her home til she reached the door to her backyard, where her gardens were. She had a few different gardens for different vegetables or fruits, but one garden in particular only had one and it was her pumpkin patch. “Let’s seeeeeeee…~ Which one do I want to use~” With a light skip to her step, she hopped over to her pumpkin patch, inspecting the vines specifically. “Hmmm… Need ones that are nice and strong… Survive being twisted up…” That thought actually makes her giggle again. “Oh, who am I kidding, pumpkin vines always manage to get twisted up, so I don’t need to worry about that too much~” As she quietly inspects all the excess vines, her mind wanders off to why she needed some in the first place. While she was walking through the city earlier today, she met some cherubuns, who were putting up these pretty wreaths and were even teaching succubuns how to make them and what to make them with. Commonly, they’re made with holy holly, but could be made with any plant with leafy branches. Originally, Bundeva wasn’t really interested, as the winter holidays weren’t that amazing to her. At most, she would spend a day, maybe two, with her cryptid littermate that she rarely saw… Except when she wasn’t expecting them. However, when glancing around at all the buns making wreaths, her eyes landed on a cherubun with white and gold fur. He seemed a bit easily agitated, but something about him drew Bundeva to him. She approached him and learned how to make a wreath from him in particular. The glowing bun often had issues focusing on things that didn’t directly interest her, but this situation made her focus strongly on it… Even if the wreath wasn’t what she was necessarily focusing on. 

    “AH HA!” She yelled out as she finally spotted the perfect set of vines for the occasion. “These will be perfect!” She gently cut the vines out of the patch and carefully rolled them up to better carry them back inside. The orange bun proceeded to skip back into her house and back to the living room where all of her holy holly she bought were located. After learning from the cherubun earlier in the day, Bundeva became determined to make a wreath at home. Two actually! She was gonna make one for her home, but she wanted to make one for the cherubun that helped teach her. She tends to do gift giving during All Sinners’ Day, a bit weird, but she didn’t care how others saw her. This was a special exception. She was gonna make this wreath and add a bit of her own flair to it, giving it a unique appearance. And some might see her as strange for using pumpkin vines as extra decoration, but she was determined to make it work with the holy holly! As she finally returned to her living room, she hopped onto the table and looked at all of the holy holly and necessary decorations she was going to need and use. She plopped herself down onto the table and began making the shapes with metal, to keep everything in place. “Hopefully I can do this well…” She was careful in every step, not wanting to mess it up. Cherubmas was a new thing to Burrowgatory, but anything outside of All Sinners’ Day was new to Bundeva. She managed to get the metal into the right shapes and placed both rings onto the table, giving them one more glance over before grabbing some of the holy holly. “This is so pure looking… It’s weird to be working with something so bright and pure compared to everything in my entire home. It’s gonna stick out like a sore thumb.” 

    “Why are you making them then?” Bundeva let out a shriek upon hearing the random voice, though she slumps upon seeing her littermate, Piper, standing near the couch in her living room. 

    “Do I wanna know how you got in this time? Or did you finally use the key I gave you?” Piper slightly tilted her head, confused by the questions. “...I’ll take that as the first one. Well, I’m making them because I wanna impress someone!” 

    “Since when have you cared about how someone else saw or thought of you?” The orange bun pouted a bit as she began weaving the holy holly in the way she was shown earlier. 

    “I don’t. But there’s something about him that makes me want to care. I don’t know why, but I do.” Bundeva kept her gaze on the wreath she was slowly putting together, though she did hear the light clops of her littermate’s skeletal hooves echo throughout the room. Eventually, Piper had hopped onto the table and sat on it, watching her work on the items of her focus. 

    “I would think you would not use the traditional plant.” 

    “I thought about that, but decided to go with the traditional plant and add a unique decoration to them instead!” As she said that, she had finished with the holly then picked up some of the pumpkin vines and started gently wrapping it around the ring of holly. “Like this! A pop of color and still represents me!” The void eyes of the bun watching her flickered with an emotion for a moment but quickly vanished afterwards as they tilted the rim of their hat down to cover them. 

    “I see… Hope this bun is worth your affections, my friend.” The orange bun had finished wrapping the vine around the holly and gently lifted up the finished wreath. 

    “Affections? Oh, don’t be ridiculous, Piper! Only bun to get my affections is you, silly! Now, come on, if you’re gonna be here, then you can help me with the wreath for my home! Can add whatever you want to it, too!” The cloaked bun smiled ever so slightly at the glowing one in front of them. 

    “If you say so…”
