Cazper had been sitting at the corner of the studio for a while now. He had almost fallen asleep a few times, in fact he could have sworn that he dissociated away a good hour at this point. He had been asked to drop by and help Peter deliver something to Velveteen, another activity that was suggested by Alimir- he seemed to know everyone just well enough to send Cazper out to do things. With all the time he had to think in the corner, he even started to believe that it might be some sort of grand ploy to get Cazper a good amount of friends around town- or at least some connections. He was about to close his eyes again, when he noticed his tail hit something soft.

Soft? That wasn't right- the end of the studio was mostly full of mannequins and stray sewing equipment... the envy bun turned to look at what he had knocked into, spotting a small plush toy with large, floppy ears. A toy succubun? He turned the doll around, looking at it from more angles. He had seen some of the more well-made stuff, the professional things that were manufactured to be perfect, and this wasn't it. He continued to look at the plush creature for a while, it didn't look like any bun that he knew- or that he had even seen, maybe it was just a succubun shape, not meant to look like anyone else. Eventually, his mind snapped out of the admiration of the plush, hearing Peter's sewing machine come to a halt. "Hey, Peter?" Cazper asked out, lifting himself up from where he had been sitting. "Hm?" Was all Peter replied with, turning around from the leather jacket he was working on.

Peter gasped lightly when he saw the plushie that Cazper had in his hands. "Where did you find that?" Caz looked confused. "Oh, this guy? I found him chilling in the corner, Should I uh... not have picked him up? He just kinda looked like the one I had at home- all uh... stitched up." Peter shook his head. "Oh, no- nothing like that. It's just... well." He scratched the back of his head for a moment, a nervous laugh leaving his mouth. "It's kind of embarrassing, but I used to make these little things a lot, before I started making clothing, that is. I haven't really gotten back into the practice too much. After all I'm a clothing designer not a toymaker." Cazper was in awe, putting the plushie down on the ground and walking up to Peter. "Uh, Cazper?" The sloth bun asked, offput by how close the other was getting while seemingly having sparkles in his eyes. "Are... you okay?"

Caz lightly grabbed the other's shoulders, looking up at his eyes with a pleading expression. "Please teach me how to make a plushie! I don't even need anything step by step, I just need to know how, please!" There was a pause, and Peter looked a bit shocked by the sudden request. After a few more beats of silence, Caz's grip got the slightest bit tighter, and his voice started to break. "I'll pay you?" He asked, which was enough to snap Peter out of his silence, pulling Cazper off of him and lightly patting him on the head. "There's no need for that, Cazper. You don't need to pay me, I just... was surprised that you asked is all. Let me get these pieces boxed up for Velveteen, and then I can try to teach you, okay? Just... sit at that table by the wall, and I'll meet you over there." He pointed to a cozy looking table at the end of the room. Cazper nodded and walked over as he was asked to, sitting on a large yellow pillow that was placed nearby.

When Peter came back over, he had a large plastic box with him, placing it down on the table. "Alright, that should be all you need materials wise... sewing kit, fabric sheets, buttons, stuffing..." He then lifted the lid of the box carefully, revealing a few papers underneath the lid. "And instructions!" Cazper watched as the papers were placed in front of him in a square-like formation, allowing him to read through the instructions all at once. It was a guide on how to make a plush succubun, with some small details regarding how to add certain physical appearances, like the buns with flowers or spikes on them. "So, do you have any questions so far, Cazper?" Peter asked, and Caz looked through the instructions again. It appeared simple enough, a few stitches here, a few embroidered sections there... "I think I'm fine...I could use some help figuring out how to do the stitches though-" Before he could finish, Peter was sitting next to him on the large pillow, looking through the box to find the right color of thread for the job.

The two had gotten a decent amount done over the hour that they worked on the plushie, Peter making sure to keep an eye on the clock so that Caz could make his way over to Velveteen in time. It had been going smoothly, Caz was a fast learner, and Peter was a good teacher. Peter was confident that Cazper could do the rest on his own, and it seemed that theory would be put up to the test. Peter's face dropped, and he made a soft noise of panic. "Cazper? You can handle doing the rest on your own, right? I totally forgot to add the reference images to the package for Velveteen." Cazper looked down at his work, the stitches looking good enough. He could manage some of this on his own, right? "Yeah, I'll be fine, for sure!" Caz certainly sounded confident, and that was enough to calm Peter's nerves, getting up from the pillow and walking back to the other side of the studio, in fact, he went out of the door. Caz was concerned for a second, before recalling what the reference pictures he had used during the process looked like- crumpled and cut up in some places. He was probably just popping out to print new ones and come back, just leaving more time for Caz to work on the plushie.

He could do this. He'd been doing good with help for the past hour, what could possibly go wrong?

--

EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING COULD GO WRONG.

Caz desperately placed the pieces of the plush succubun on the table, trying his best to make sure he had everything where he could find it at least. Peter had only been gone for about thirty minutes, but it was enough time for Caz to fuck up bad. He wasn't even sure what happened. One moment, the plush bunny was coming together- the next, it shattered, exploded, fell apart like a stack of cards!

And of course, that was when Peter came back. Thankfully, he didn't seem to notice the mess when he entered the studio, focusing on putting the newly printed sheets of reference material into the box for Velveteen. However, it only took a clatter of a dropped spool of thread to bring his attention over. He gasped, but silenced himself quickly. Caz felt himself start crying when he heard the other's shoes tapping on the floor towards him. He was fully expecting to get yelled at, but it never came. Instead, Peter just looked down at him, concerned. "Cazper?" He let out his concern in the single word, which only increased when the other bun looked up with tears in his eyes. His eyes were watery and he let out a bit of a pained hiccup. "Help..." He whined out, and Peter was quick to pat him on the head as an attempt to comfort him.

"Caz, it's okay, it's okay buddy, we'll fix this." Peter started, sitting down next to Caz again and looking around at the pieces of plushie. "Oh! I see what you did, you sewed up the pieces too much, you didn't allow any spaces for the pieces to connect." Caz let out another noise of distress at that, picking up one of the plush pieces that was pretty much just a fully sewn together body. Peter took the plush body from Caz, rummaging through the box and finding an small knife within it. "It's an easy fix, we just cut them open, resew them with open spaces and make sure we connect the pieces together right. The pieces themselves are well made, so that's the only problem. You did a great job, Cazper, calm down a little." With his hands full, Peter just flashed Caz a smile to encourage him.

Cazper let himself breathe a little. He had been complimented- he did good for the most part, one little mistake wasn't going to ruin him. However, the calm didn't last for much longer- they had only just created the proper holes in the plush pieces before a small sound of a phone alarm went off, causing Cazper to bolt up from the table. "Oh Shit, Velveteen's box-!" He yelped, not only because of the shock, but also because in his rush to get up, he had hit a knee on the table. He didn't have time to process the pain, though, quickly running over and picking up the black box placed by the door. Peter wasn't going to stop him, of course not- but he did call out after him. "Hey Caz, remember to come back afterwards! I'll probably have this little guy done for you by then... and make sure you put a bandage on your knee!"

The words were heard and processed, but Caz didn't have enough time to yell back, already down the road by the time he fully understood what was being yelled at him. As he ran, he grumbled and spoke to himself- mostly just repeating the word 'ow' over and over again every time he stepped on the hoof with his banged up knee. If he rushed, he would only be a few minutes late, and surely Velveteen would understand as long as he didn't keep them waiting too long.

If anything, he just worried about upsetting whatever model was going to be wearing the leather stuff- Caz always worried about starting off on the wrong hoof with cool people.
