May Flowers

Humming to herself, Mair climbed onto her kitchen table, bouquet in hand. It was a small and simple one, round with a few simple chairs around it. Still, it got the job done for what it was needed anyways. And today it was the chosen one to be used as a workshop.

 

The table already had a glass vase filled with flowers on it but the bun had bought a spare bouquet just in case. This way she had more variety of flowers to pick from and she could keep a nice flower arrangement in her kitchen with the remains as well. Hopefully. While they were most definitely a skilled bun they were... well, not as good with the crafts of flowers. Arranging them was alright but flower crowns were delicate work with even more delicate flowers involved...

 

First, Mair laid out the bouquet, separating the different types of flowers on the wrapping paper, after which she took out the majority of the plants from the vase as well and did the same. As she stood there, thoughtfully looking through the flowers and trying to come up with an arrangement a familiar buzzing caught her attention. An insistent one. 

 

'Yes, Queenie?' she turned to her pet bimble, a bit annoyed at the interruption. When she laid eyes on Queenie, though, an idea came to mind. It was holding some clover flowers with a couple of leaves in between. 'Why thank you, dear.' the succubun grinned widely as she took the flowers and laid them down along with the rest of them. 'I think that's just what I needed!' 

 

Giddy with excitement, Mair got down to work, pulling flowers apart and arranging them into a composition until she finally got around to something she liked a while later. Queenie had buzzed and flown around the table throughout the entire time and buzzed in approval or disapproval to the various compositions as Mair worked. Even went as far as to add onto it as well. Mostly just input, if Mair was to judge. 

 

Once that was done and out of the way, Seamair started braiding and weaving the stalks and leaves together, trying her best to keep the arrangement as close to how it was when it had been laid on the table as possible. In the meantime, Queenie was preoccupied with the remainder of the flowers, at first seeming smitten with the ones remaining before eventually getting bored and moving on to the pulled-apart ones. Mair suddenly noticed petals falling onto her wreath as she worked on it and at first thought she had messed things up with the flowers but then noticed that the leaves were not the right color. 

 

Looking up she saw Queenie buzzing about happily, swooping down to collect petals and then tossing them in the air while doing circles. 'Ah...' was all that left Mair's mouth before she sighed in resignation and went back to work. She only had a handful more flowers to weave in before the wreath was all done. Well, aside from weaving the two ends together anyways. Which was soon done as well, albeit a bit shabby and at the cost of some of the decoration leaves. No matter, it looked good enough.

 

'Aha!' Mair raised the wreath victoriously with a smirk on her face as Queenie buzzed happily in agreement. It was a good flower crown. 'Queenie, help me put it on, please.' Seamair turned. A second pair of hooves would definitely be useful to have in putting the delicate thing over her horns without potentially ruining it along with all the hard work that had gone into it. 

 

'And all the flower sacrifices...' the bun thought to herself. 

 

This brought upon a thought and she quickly raised her voice at Queenie 'NOT ripping them apart, okay?' It had just been mere minutes since the bimble had flown around tossing and shredding petals around the room, resulting in a colorful mess, Mair didn't want that happening to the flower crown as well.

 

Queenie gave a quick shake and a buzz, something Mair had grown accustomed to as a nod from the little imp. 'Alright then, let's see how it fits.' with those final words they navigated the wreath over her head and dropped it on. Excited, Mair hopped off the table and ran toward the nearest mirror to have a look at the result, Queenie following closely behind, struggling a bit to keep up.
