Teddy Bears and Quinn

In his room of dark blue and black, nestled in between star shaped pillows, Quinn sat cross-legged on his bed. He was admiring a new addition to his toy collection with a small smile.

It wasn’t easy finding this kind of plushie, a rare limited edition once a year kind of collectible.

“Oh?” He was only broken out of his thoughts when he felt a paw lightly pat his thigh. He was silent for a few moments before he giggled and he reached down to pick up his bearly, “Couldn’t sleep, Harbinger? I thought you could be cuddled up with the others.”

The albino bearly only looked curiously up at him, before their attention drifted down towards the bed. They gestured with their claws, tilting their head.

“Do you like them?” He muttered, hugging his imp close, “I’ve always liked bearly plushies, you all are just so cute, but I think this one is my favorite yet.”

Quinn was quick to move his other bearly plushies out of the way. “Oh but I can’t forget the pink one I have.” He held up the little plush. “Doesn’t it look just like Prophecy?”

The bearly seemed interested in the pink plush, but before they could move his owner had dropped the plush and grabbed a blue one.

“And this one looks like Crisis, although you can see the stitch lines on this one. It was actually one of the first plushes I collected.” Quinn didn’t seem bothered by the fact he was talking to his little bearly like the imp could understand him.

And yet, Harbinger did seem to pat attention in his own way as he gently rubbed his owner’s arm with a small paw pad.

“I knew you’d liked that one!” Quinn set the blue plush down and grabbed a black one. “This one reminds me of Nihilism, who’s always such a cutie.”

Harbinger blinked slowly.

“Oh but I’m getting off track,” Quinn gasped, setting down all the little plushies he grabbed, “You know I love bearly plushies and so I could a bun sized one! Isn’t it so cute, Harbinger? It’s an albino plushie like you!”

Quinn couldn’t help hugging his new plush tightly, moving Harbinger just high enough that the little imp wouldn’t be crushed in the doll’s excitement. “It’s just so cute, I could collect a million of these… though Ego told me I shouldn’t be spending so much money on these.”

The bearly wiggled slightly, tapping his owner’s arm a few times.

Quinn decided to take that as an agreement as he pouted, “I know! He tells me I spend my money on silly things, but you should see the inside of his apartment! It’s like he bought every dirty toy in existence.”

He shook his head, “It’s nice that he has things he likes, but I should be allowed to like whatever I do too. The plushies make me just so happy. Just like all my little bearlys.” He lifted Harbinger high enough to kiss their little head.

Harbinger melted under the affection, they loved Quinn just as much as he loved them. Espo with the way they were trying to get more cuddles by moving closer; there might even have been a little bit of pet jealousy over the plushie in their owner’s arms.

Quinn didn’t seem to notice as he continued to ramble, “I was thinking of buying a custom plush of Loren.” He sighed dreamily, “Who wouldn’t want something to remind him of the best boyfriend in the wall?”

He fell backwards on the bed, letting go of the large bearly plush to hold his living bearly over his head. “What do you think Harbinger? Is that a good idea?”

The bearly only stared down at Quinn, their eyes unchanging as their paws reached towards him.

Quinn squealed as he hugged his pet close. “See I knew you’d agree! Everyone needs a cute collection don’t they? I bet Loren would like my collection.”

His boyfriend was just so sweet and nice like that, really Quinn had never dated anyone that kind to him before. He even had a tiny brown bearly plush that Loren got for him on one of their dates.

Quinn shook his head, “Oh geez, this makes me want to buy some more plushies right now… hmm I mean getting one or two more isn’t so bad right? And I wouldn’t even need to tell Ego what I spend my money on, that silly manager.”

Harbinger cuddled against Quinn’s neck, content to fall asleep right then and there.

Quinn kept talking. “Yeah, I should do what I want! It’s my money from the concerts, why shouldn’t I buy more stuff for my toy collection!”

The doll continued to ramble as his bearly enjoyed his owner’s voice. There was always something to collect for every bun and doll.
