Berrily Excited
Ayabun hadn’t intended on going to the Toy Fair at all. It was her day off and she wanted to spend her time relaxing. Alch, her beloved Furdin, had other plans however. So off on a short walk they were supposed to go. However, whispers of strawberry cheesecake on a stick at the fair drew her attention.
Ayabun and Alch walked along quietly, half glancing at the stalls and tables as they went. There were all kinds of neat toys and trinkets, for both fun and pleasure alike. Perhaps both at the same time. She idled for a moment at a table full of leather straps and covered paddles. It was tempting, but anything work related would have to be better quality than these ones. Oh well.
On her way past a few trinket tables, she paused again. A glimmer of shiny metallic red catching her eye. A second glance and she knew for sure. Strawberry. Walking up to the stall she took a closer look. Not something she would use, but it was cute as hell for an adult toy. The little plug was a gorgeous metallic red and the gem set in the end was the perfect leafy green, cut and crafted to look like a strawberry top. It was carefully set in and covered so there was no risk of a sharp edge. She paid for it and went on her way. Now curious about the other stalls.
Strawberry scented pens, strawberry mouse pad, strawberry phone case, strawberry blanket sets, strawberry earrings, strawberry horn decorations, a cute strawberry tie fit for tails, wrists, or otherwise. She only paused her buying spree when her imp Alch whined up at her. “Ooop, sorry Handsome. What is it?” He pawed at her and turned to look at one of the food stalls. “Oh food. Of course!” As though on command, her stomach grumbled. When was the last time she ate anyway?
Leading Alch over she ordered Imp safe treats and got herself a strawberry crepe wrap. The perfect little treat. She was just finishing it off when she saw it in the hands of someone else passing by. She bolted after the other bun. “Wait wait wait wait!” The startled bun whirled on her, clutching their chest in surprise. “I’m so sorry but which stall did you get that at?” She pointed at the object in the buns other hoof. Relieved that it was nothing serious, the bun told her exactly where to go. Ayabun thanked her several times and scooped Alch up into the arm she wasn’t carrying her haul of strawberry themed items in.
Three stalls down, a right hand turn, four more stalls down. She turned to the right and sure enough there were still several still there. They were stunning. Just as the picture on the box had shown. They were crystals, designed to sit on top of a circular stand that slowly rotated. LED’s in the middle. The one they had out on display sparkled and had her almost in a daze.
The bun at the table asked if she needed anything. “All of it.” They begged her pardon with a wide eyed expression. “I’m buying all of them.”
“Ma’am don’t you want to hear the price first?” The stall bun asked.
Ayabun shook her head. “Not worried. I can afford it. Just pack them all up please~”
“Ma’am there are thirty of these… Are you sure you want them all?”
Ayabun looked at all the sealed boxes sitting on the shelf behind the bun and smiled wide. She absolutely had to have them all. She had the perfect ledge in her home, lined up all around a room near the ceiling. And she bet if she bothered Ione, they would be able to hook all of those up to a single on and off switch. “I’m one hundred percent sure. I want them all.”
The stall bun tallied everything up, their mouth agape as Ayabun paid for them all and happily gathered the bags up. She was smiling so wide as her and Alch walked away. Carefully tucking all the bags to one arm she pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Ione up.
There was a hint of tired as they picked up, but Ayabun could only smile. “Ioooooneeee would you be up for a small job? I’ll pay whatever price you give me~” Silence on the other end of the line for a moment. “Ione?”
A sigh. “What kind of job this time?” Ione sounded annoyed, but that wasn’t too much new.
“A simple one I hope, I need to hook up thirty lights to just one switch. Is that something you can do?”
There was a pause on the other end, and she could almost see the confused expression on Iones face as the bun blinked and thought it through. “It’s…possible yes. But-”
She smiled wide. “Oh perfect! I knew I could count on you~ Let me know when you’re free next~ Thank you so much Ione!!” She hung up without waiting for a reply. Not the norm for her but she was so excited. Shuffling her bags around one more time she realised she was forgetting something. “Oh shoot.” As she turned around however, Alch already had his own leash in his mouth and was waiting patiently to hand it over to her. “What a good boy you are~ Thank you.” Alch perked up and hopped up onto her shoulder.
“You really are the best boy~” She leaned her head over to give him a gentle nuzzle and away they went. She had to find spots for all her new strawberry items, and make sure her other imps got their dinner too.
