Shiny Robotic Impup

Energy buzzed through the Toy Fair as enthusiasts and toy insiders alike mingled among colorful displays and intricate setups. Whirring with excited chatter, whirring toys in action, and the periodic gasps from onlookers over the newest and latest, the air was thick with innovation. Or collects tables they just couldn't wait to get ahold of. Among them was Polaris, amused by the line of new and wonderful playthings.

She swam through the table lanes, her dark blue tail twitching at the various sounds of merriment and chatter. Every booth was advertising something for the future: something to play with or an item that had long been in view, waiting for a day to be sold. The fair had been everything from intricately mechanical marvelous things down to and including stuffed and interactive creatures. But there really was most definitely a part of the fair that had caught her eye. Several robotic imps were on display, all in different colors and designs.

Polaris's eyes widened in pure wonder as she approached the table containing several colored robotic imps. Some were colored emerald green, some colored into fiery red, while others were even colored bright yellow, all structured with their own set of fanciful features and patterns. Every color was more brilliant than its predecessor, and the workmanship was perfect. Still, one of them caught her eye: Lunar Impup. Besides being an extremely featured model right now, it had a mesmerizing deep blue plastic shell with twinkling star motifs to fit her starry theme. The virtual screen eyes of the Impup, which would blink and react as if the thing were almost alive, seemed especially cute.

Vendors are usually jolly, smiling broadly, and one such approached Polaris because he felt that she was interested. "Well, hey there! Looks like you got an eye for our latest Lunar Impup."

Polaris' eyes ran wide as she listened to details about the Lunar Impup. "Gosh, this one is something else; what's up with it?"

The vendor burst out laughing and leant a bit, full of enthusiasm. "This one here, Impup, is the real deal. We totally redesigned our old robotic imps for this new software, making them so much more interactive. We redesigned all the older versions and added in new colors that we couldn't do previously. This little fella's got screen eyes that blink and react just like a real imp, but without all of the fuss of taking care of one. It's got a whole new set of tricks up its sleeve.

Polar reached out and ran her fingers over the robotic Impup-the hard, smooth surface hummed softly at her touch. There was some seriously advanced tech at work in it, yet it seemed so inviting, so friendly. "Well, ain't that just the cutest thing. I gotta have it."

He smiled and was pleased with the reaction, and then carefully packed up the Lunar Impup for her. Polaris reached into her pouch and pulled out a handful of carats. She handed those over with a grin. "Here ya go. Thanks for the gem."

The man took the carats and handed her a receipt with a friendly nod. "You're welcome! Enjoy your new little buddy."

With the new toy clutched tight, Polaris floated out of the fair with a heart racing in her chest. Already on the way home, she was dreaming of hours overplaying with her new Lunar Impup. She finally came to her cozy abode and unpacked her new toy with great eagerness. The shimmer of starry fur was soft to light, the screen eyes flickered with friendly light. Polaris couldn't wait to spend time interacting with it, giving it a place among her own belongings, enjoying the company of her new, playful friend.
