bathing prancer

If you knew Prancer, you would know exactly how predictable it was that a grooming session would go horribly wrong. So wrong, in fact, that his owner - Dazzles - would end up being the one getting a bath instead.. 

Dazzles knew about Prancer's awful behavior, how could she not? Despite this, she somehow decided it was still a good idea to give him a nice bath, nail trim, and the like, before she met with Haven and her bearly, Tooth, for the imp competition. She kind of already knew what the outcome was going to be, but, it would be good enrichment for her rowdy impup anywho. Haven was probably practicing her best tricks, and making sure her bearly was in tip top shape. Dazzles didn't have many tricks to practice, but she might as well try and get Prancer looking presentable. 

The first task at hand cutting his overgrown little nails. Of course, Prancer was still relatively young, so he didnt have much experience with his claws being trimmed. As Dazzles approached with the pale blue clippers and a treat at the ready, Prancer started to do what he was named for.. prance. It was his display of happiness, and how he carried himself in general. She'd been giving him exposure to the clippers, accompanied with lots of treats, so he'd started to like the sight of it. Today was the real test, though, to see if he would behave for the actual thing. The bun placed the clippers near his paws, and he seemed a little hesitant, but continued to wag his little tail. She clipped the first nail, and it popped off with ease. Prancer was more focused on the treat she had in her other hand, entirely clueless to what had happened. Another few claws, clip clip clip.. and he was all done! She gave him the treat, and he somehow ingested it, she still wasnt sure how without a mouth. He still seemed in rather good spirits. Wow! Maybe the rest of the grooming would go just as well..?

With primped and primed nails, it was time for Prancer's next challenge.. taking a bath. Dazzles started the warm water, and filled the tub only about an inch a half high. She picked up her impup, and gently plopped him into the shallow water. He just stood there, not really seeming to dislike it, but not seeming to particularly enjoy it either. The imp-owner grabbed down the shower hose, and turned it on very low pressure, water barely trickling out. She started to carefully drizzle the water over Prancer, who, once again, didn't appear to care one way or another. That was, until, she got to his head. She covered his eyes with her hand, and all hell suddenly broke loose. Prancer jumped entirely over her hand and arm, and straight into her. She squealed with surprise, falling over onto her back on the floor. The shower head was still in her hand, and now it was pointed at her, though it was still barely on, so it only got her a bit damp. However, like he seemed to always do, Prancer made it worse. He started to paw at the shower head, seemingly trying to turn it off, only to make the pressure go up higher. He yelped as it sprayed him directly in the face, and as soon as he moved away from the stream, Dazzles was caught in it. She quickly turned the hose away, but only after getting her upper half completely soaked. Her gaze drifted to Prancer, who was shaking himself dry from the water, and she couldn't help but laugh. He looked absolutely defeated, and, well, she did too. 

Soon enough, the two of them were dry, and Dazzles decided enough grooming had been done. She couldn't wait to tell Haven all the terrible trouble she had with her impup, and no doubt hear about how well behaved Haven's bearly was. Oh well..
