April Showers [Prompt]
Shibani had been running late, having slept in quite a while on his shift at Dan’s. He was supposed to be at the front counter but… it was just so relaxing being there and he couldn’t help but drift off for a bit… or longer. He quickly grabbed his things, it seemed like it was going to rain and he did not want to be caught in it. All his comfy clothes and pillows would be soaked! No longer comfy! He couldn’t have that, he wanted to be able to rest as soon as he got home. As soon as the last of his stuff is grabbed, he makes his way out the front door of the shop and onto the streets pretty quickly. He kept glancing up, his pace was definitely quicker than most other times he’d walked down here.
Eventually, he began to hear the telltale taps behind him, the rain had already started, at least it was calm, nothing too strong yet. He could make it home in this. Annoying? Yes, but doable. He starts to look around at the flowers and gardens each succubun had out in their yards, the bright greens turning more vibrant and each color of the different flowers was practically ethereal with how vibrant they turned. He took his time moving through, the rain still just little drops, sprinkling occasionally. How nice, a spring shower stroll. He thought to himself, however, that thought quickly vanishes as the rain picks up quickly, pouring on the poor bun as he walks. He freaks out for a moment, trying to see if he’d grabbed his umbrella before giving up and sacrificing one of his soft, warm, comfy pillows, placing it above his head as he picked up his pace. Great! Just great! Of course, I left my umbrella at home. His inner monologue quickly switches out loud, mumbling all sorts of things as he grows upset. “I wouldn’t need it, I said, it’s too far for me to go get it, it won’t be a big deal anyways, I said. Well look what you just did to yourself Shibani, now you’re stuck in the rain.” He huffs, having his little argument with himself. His pillow hadn’t held up too well, already dripping onto his head as it soaked through. The wind didn’t help either, pushing the rain every which way and getting Shibani absolutely soaked no matter what he had done, umbrella or not. At least that was a small reassurance, even with that thing he’d still be as wet as he is now. The rain doesn’t seem to let up any until right as he’s at his door, of course. He trudges his way inside, tracking splotches of water behind him. Just great… truly. He quickly strips himself and runs to get new, clean, and dry clothes, the comfiest ones he had, and placed the rest to get washed and dried. What a storm, at least he was inside and cuddly now, the drips easing him into a lull, picking up again and creating a nice white noise for the amazing nap he was about to have.
