My First Imp
It's been a while since Komugi settled in Burrowgatory, they had finalized their contract in the publishing agency and had finished unboxing their belongings and decorating their apartment. Kabocha, the felantern that they adopted at the Pedigree as a self reward was playing with a ball of yarn in the middle of their room. Komugi was going through their work schedule when they heard Kabocha scratching at the corner of the glass door leading towards the balcony. Getting out of their chair, Komugi picked up the seemingly restless fellantern and sled open the curtain. In front of them was a chirop, flying around playing with the wind chime that they brought as a keepsake from their time under the demon's care.
Upon seeing the chirop, Kabocha wagged its tail seemingly excited at the existence of another imp. It kept looking at its owner then at the flying chirop back and forth, lightly tapping at Komugi's hand as if wanting its master to open the door and let the flying imp in. Seeing the fellantern's behavior, Komugi sighed and let the chirop in. Anything to make the little fella happy, they thought. As the wild chirop entered the room, it began flying around, prompting Kabocha to jump out of Komugi's bun arms, chasing the little chirop around and making a little bit of a mess inside the room. Kabocha chased the chirop relentlessly, jumping to the bed, to the top of Komugi's wardrobe, then jumped again towards their bookshelves. Books and trinkets fell down to the floor and Komugi ran around trying to catch them all, afraid some stuff might get broken.
After what felt like hours, Kabocha finally managed to catch up to the chirop and caught it, hugging the smaller imp with its paws. It brought the chirop in front of Komugi and dropped it near the bun's hind legs. The chirop, likely exhausted and terrorized from the game of tag, just lied there hugging its body with its wings. To Komugi's surprise, Kabocha approached the chirop and gently nuzzling its pumpkin head, trying to cheer the chirop. "You know its likely tired and afraid because of you right?" Komugi sighed, scolding the fellantern before they went to the kitchen.
Komugi then came back bringing a small plate with two mitarashi dango they bought from Dan. They have bought the chewy delicacy knowing that imps love them and mostly they are also curious in what effect will they have at the imp as one of their coworker had mentioned that eating dango will make imps change its appearances. Komugi settled the plate down and nudged at the chirop with their arms to check if the chirop was okay. Surely at the sight of the dango, the chirop perked its ears and flew in a circle happily. Kabocha wagged its tail, excited that its new friend seemed to regain its energy. Komugi watched the little chirop finished the dango plate and getting along with Kabocha,
Guess now they and Kabocha got a new flying roomate...
