Mission Imp-possible
Tonight was the night that Nixie needed to join Hutch for some imp training. They had promised Hutch that they would, as repayment for helping them out with an imp issue in the near past. It was a dark day out, with the bioluminescence in its natural lower state. Hutch had picked this time because it was possible to find a lunell. From what they understood, they were going to try to catch a lunell. Other than that, they were going over some basic imp knowledge.
Nixie had decided to go ahead and head down to the imporium. When they reached it, they walked in through the door and into the shop. Hutch was waiting there, two nets and a cage in hand, and the collar/leash around the neck. Nixie was wearing an opened button up shirt, with a similar design to his markings on it.
“I see you are all ready to go. I’m ready to learn, Master Hutch!” Nixie said, still teasing Hutch due to what happened the last time they were together. Hutch once again got kind of flustered. It was a good time for Nixie, who enjoyed the teasing. “Seriously though, I am ready to go. I see you’ve got a net for me.”
“Yes, I have one right here for you, Nixie.” Hutch responded, holding one of the nets out for them to take. Nixie took one of the nets, holding it in one hand, and putting it over his shoulder. “Let’s head out. We should be able to find multiple lunell tonight. It’s the right time of the month.” Hutch was getting excited in a way they only every do when it comes to imps, and imp care.
“Alright, lets head out then, I’ll follow your lead.” Nixie said to them. They left the imporium and headed out to an empty field surrounded by a forest. They looked around but didn’t see any imps.
“Let’s just wait. They tend to flock to empty fields from the forest.” Hutch informed Nixie of the basic behaviours of the special imp. “Maybe we should lay down and wait.”
“Okay, can do.” Both buns lay on their bellies and watched the surrounding forests for the imps. Eventually, a couple came out from the forest near them. “Let’s go” Nixie said to Hutch. They slowly headed toward the imps, trying to stay low. After a successful capture by Hutch, they headed back to the store. Nixie was already exhausted.
“Time for the quiz now. I’m assuming you studied the materials I gave you to study?” Hutch said, sure of himself. Nixie nodded in agreement and then leaned against the counter that Hutch was also leaning against. “So, how many different kind of imps are there?”
“12” Nixie answered.
“Well, correct and incorrect.” Hutch answered. Nixie was confused. What did that mean? And what was with the puzzling answer.
“There are 12 basic imps, but there are several seasonal imps as well. Next question. Which imp drips black goo?”
“The Inkap.” Nixie answered, sure of himself. His pride was at stake here, he couldn’t keep answering wrong.
“Correct! Next question, and last question. Which imp was once thought to be poisonous?” Hutch asked.
“The sceil.” Nixie was once again sure of himself.
“Good job!” Hutch said excitedly. “And thanks again for your help in capturing the lunell.”
“Not a problem at all, Hutch.” Nixie responded. They said their goodbyes and Nixie left the shop, heading back home. It was a good night of imp knowledge and capturing. This night made Nixie rethink not getting an imp. Maybe a pet would be a great idea
