Green Thumb - pruning
Snuggler Supreme had just finished a run at the Rabbit Hole, helping out Hops in a very busy night. Walking home, still in the skimpy maid outfit that is the uniform down at the Rabbit Hole, She noticed that the garden was getting a little out of control. Weeds were starting to pop up everywhere, and a vine of something was wriggling its way through the hazeblooms. In addition, the hazeblooms themselves were getting large, and could probably use a trim. But that wasn’t for tonight. Snugs was already exhausted. She headed into her house, to the bedroom, and stripped off the outfit. Hopping under her comforter and sheets, both the same shade of pink as her shag carpet, made her feel better already. Now it was time to sleep.
Snugs awoke to the sounds of something skittering outside her house. She slowly got up, fluffed her poofy hair, and walked outside. Walking around the house, she couldn’t find anything, even though there were a lot of noises when she was in the room. Making a second loop around the house yielded much the same results. Nothing.
She walked to the front of the house to see what kind of work she needed to do in the garden. As she saw last night, it needed quite a bit of work. She had been neglecting it because work is hard, and she is soft. But it was time to do it finally. She walked to the shed to get her pruning shears. In the shed, it was a mess, but she knew just where to find the shears. She went to her apron, grabbed it, her gloves, and the shears that were in the apron. Putting on the apron, she dropped the shears out, without noticing.
She slowly walked up the garden. When she got there, she bent down and grabbed a weed in the garden. She yanked as hard as she could to pull it out. Then on to the next one, then the next one, so on and so forth, until the garden was cleared of weeds. Next was the vine. She couldn’t find a specific area that the vine seemed to start or end, so she just picked up a piece. She reached inside of her apron to try and find the shears, to no avail. She started looking around the area where the weeds were deposited, as well as the garden itself. Without the shears, she couldn’t cut the vines or the hazeblooms.
She sat and scratched her head. Where could it be? She thought back to what she had done since putting on the apron. There wasn’t a whole lot, so she just had to backtrack. Up and back through the yard, around to the side of the house she went. Nowhere on the ground, could she find the shears, so around back, and to the shed. As she opened the shed door, she found them sitting right on the ground.
She grabbed the shears and headed around back out front. Now there was nothing to do except chop up the vine, and prune the hazeblooms. Easier work thankfully. She got around front and bent over and starting cutting up the vine. It took Snugs a little longer than she had intended, but still not difficult work. Next, she carefully pruned the hazeblooms.
Once she was done, she got rid of the extra foliage and went inside to wash up. A successful day of gardening, and the Hazeblooms were getting ready to be harvested.
