So you had a bad day
The day had been long, being between work did nothing to help the feeling of dread swirling around his brain. Mismatched eyes squinted whilst the seated figure remembered all that had occured thus far. The morning had started like most..making breakfast and subsequently having half of it stolen by his way too hot housemate. Saffron had taken larger bites than usual which left Aurum a touch hungry.
Of course the male could have cooked more food but that took too much effort. So with a mildly grumbling stomach he’d went off to ask about jobs. Toting the bag of job applications all over was unpleasant and then his own cursed high standards made finding the right fit for a job nigh impossible.
So with aching feet Aurum had dared head back home..the house was so empty thanks to Saffron working. Even if the other had a bad habit of stealing his food, the dual haired bun would admit not having him there made the home especially lonely.
A solution for a bad day & loneliness equaled going to have a strong drink. As is so often the case one drink led to two..and those two led to four..now feeling the tingly zing all over Aurum held up a hand to ask for a fifth. “Another please Hops..mmm still too stiff.”
Too stiff to flirt, too prideful to find a stranger to fling with..for now. If he got a little more sloppily drunk some of his inhibitions would surely be freed. When a fifth drink did not appear the slightly tipsy male glanced up to find Hops. She was her usual bubbly self but there was a certain gleam in her eyes. ‘Come back here and mix your own! I’ll show you something to lift those sorrows away!! Never fails to cheer me up..come come!’
Waving enthusiastically she set out two empty glasses while Aurum swayed his way behind the bar. Shaking fingers took hold of the clean empty glassware, mind less strict already. On a normal average day there's no way he’s so casually come behind a bar but Hops was convincing and had been so kind. What harm could it do? “My housemate likes my food but I never mix drinks so you’ll have to..to help me quite a bit.” Her warm smile eased any remaining tension. Soon she’d expertly mixed up a fascinating looking drink, the colors swirled and glittered in a magical way. "Whoa..what do you call this one?” Hops grinned brightly at the compliment, easily mixing a few more while talking. ‘A Bourbun!’ Isn't it so pretty?'
Leaning in close to examine the glass Aurum got to work trying to copy the recipe for the bourbun, mimicking Hops movements as best he could.
Being tipsy led to a few spilled drips along with one or two curses but the bartender remained ever patient and giggling at the males' antics. With a finishing flick of edible glitter of some kind Aurum looked at his creation next to Hops..well they were kind of similar.
It was glaringly obvious which was made by a professional. Still her infectious smile had him grinning at last “Bottoms up!” Throwing their drinks back led to another round of laughter from the pair “Not bad! Thank you for teaching me..” Maybe he could mix one up at home and impress a certain someone. So with swaying steps alongside a final loud farewell to Hops he was off towards home. What a day.

Aurum has a rough day and drowns his sorrows. Hops helps cheer him up with a quick drink lesson behind the bar.
