Rainy Day Revelations
As the rain drummed against the windows of Burrowgatory, Krysta sighed, feeling cooped up inside her small apartment. She glanced out the window, observing the water cascading down the glass and flowing into rivulets. It had been raining for days now, and she was growing restless. Reading no longer held her attention. She had retrieved yarn and knitting needles, but she couldn't focus on her stitches to complete the sweater she had started this month. She sighed deeply.
A sudden urge to play cards seized her. She decided to practice a bit. She had ordered a brand new deck of cards to play with her best friend. Since she hadn't had the chance to see her yet, she started a game of solitaire. She was doing very well. However, loneliness overtook her. She needed to play a different game with an opponent of her caliber. With a soft smile, Krysta thought of her friend Angora, the enigmatic and wealthy woman who seemed to excel in any situation. Krysta admired Angora's confidence and composure. Perhaps a visit to Wonderland Casino would lift her spirits and provide some much-needed entertainment on this gloomy day. Gathering her coat and umbrella, Krysta made her way through the rain-soaked streets to the casino.
Krysta finally arrived in front of the Wonderland Casino. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses greeted her as she entered, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. This was a grand casino. There were slot machines as far as the eye could see, and you could hear the carats and coins clinking, sometimes in large quantities to reward the lucky winners. The sounds of the machines, the lights, and the people... Everything invited the young lady to lose her precious carats there. The temptation was strong, but she wanted to play cards. So she scanned the area in search of Angora. Angora was sure to be here, holding court as usual.
Sure enough, Krysta spotted Angora at a table near the back of the casino, surrounded by a group of admirers. Angora's striking presence commanded attention, and Krysta couldn't help but admire her from afar. She made her way through the crowd, catching Angora's eye as she approached. Krysta's presence didn't leave Angora indifferent. She had sensed and recognized the young woman. She remained composed and addressed Krysta. "Krysta, darling! What a delightful surprise," Angora purred, her voice dripping with charm. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?" Krysta smiled warmly at her friend, taking a seat opposite her at the table. "I couldn't bear another moment of boredom indoors," she admitted. "And I knew you'd be here, brightening up the place as always."
Angora laughed, a sound like tinkling bells. "Well, I do my best," she said, waving a hand dismissively. "But tell me, what brings you to Wonderland today? Looking to try your luck at the tables, perhaps?" Krysta shook her head, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Actually, I was hoping you might indulge me in a game of cards," she said. "I've been practicing my skills, and I thought it might be fun to test them against the best." Angora raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You want to play against me? My dear, you must be feeling quite confident in your abilities," she remarked, a smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "Very well, consider it a challenge accepted." Angora was shuffling the poker cards meticulously, preparing the gaming table for her future opponent. She was well aware of Krysta's capacities, and the thought of facing her once again filled her with delight.
The two women settled in for a game of cards, the tension mounting with each hand. Krysta found herself swept up in the excitement of the game, her competitive spirit matching Angora's move for move. Despite Angora's formidable reputation, Krysta held her own, surprising even herself with her skill and strategy. As the game progressed, Krysta couldn't help but notice the subtle shift in Angora's demeanor. Gone was the aloof and distant facade, replaced instead by a genuine sense of camaraderie and respect. As the final hand was dealt, Krysta held her breath, her heart pounding in her chest. She revealed her cards, a triumphant smile spreading across her face as she realized she had won. Angora applauded graciously, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "Well done, Krysta," Angora said, her voice soft with sincerity. Krysta grinned, feeling a surge of pride.
Angora had admitted her defeat, recognizing how much Krysta had improved since the last time. Indeed, during their last encounter, Krysta had to surrender the game. She had lost against the master of poker. The young lady even gambled very large sums of carats, but she also had lost... her clothes and she spent a eventful night with Angora. Today, Krysta had regained her winnings, all while having fun, forgetting the gloomy weather. Enjoying herself at the casino, Krysta decided to buy a round of wine for all her opponents. White wine is her favorite drink. The young lady dove into new games and also tried her luck at the slot machines for more carats. Sometimes she lost, but luck would turn, and she would regain her winnings, much to Angora's amused gaze.
The day passed quickly, so much so that the evening crept in. Krysta spent the rest of her evening playing, captivating the owner of the Wonderland Casino, Angora. She had such a good time with Krysta that she offered to accompany her home. "Darling, I'm delighted to have faced such an excellent opponent. It seems you've won the game this time. My forfeit will be to escort you home tonight." Krysta widened her eyes and accepted Angora's offer. "With great pleasure. ~". The dealers began to tidy up all the tables, tallying the day's earnings as the casino slowly emptied out. Angora grabbed her large umbrella and invited Krysta to follow her outside the establishment. There, Angora opened her umbrella and invited Krysta to join her underneath, drawing the young woman into an embrace. Krysta blushed. "Since I won, I suppose you could spend the night at my place?" Angora chuckled softly. "You won't get me that easily, darling. You'll have to challenge me to another game first."
This is how rainy days should be spent. Time passes more quickly, and we end up getting closer to people. Some people think that rain is boring, but you have to look beyond the bad weather. The rain will stop in the coming days, but we'll have to be patient because sunny days are on the way.
