Coffee and more Coffee

Ione had been meaning to stop by Paradise Cafe for a visit, they simply had been far too busy with their cafe, The Daily Grind and keeping up with all orders especially the backend. They usually preferred to spend their days off with their partner or relaxing but today he was away and Ione was itching to get out of their house. This was a golden opportunity to pay a visit to the cafe owned by a Cherubun. Several of Ione's regulars had raved enough to pipe their curiosity.

Boy oh boy did they absolutely hated elevators and they had JUST gotten on. Ione stood there, arms crossed and scowling as they ascended in height toward the Heavenly Embassy. When the elevator arrived at Heavenly Embassy, Ione quickly stepped out of the enclosed small space and stretched out their limbs to get the unease feeling out of their bones before going to look for the sign pointing the way to the Paradise Cafe. Luckily it was easy to find and Ione easily navigated their way to the cafe with some curiosity.

Paradise Cafe was definitely set up a little similar to The Daily Grind yet the aesthetic was so different with lot of pastel tones which had Ione reeling a little in surprise. With a soft sigh, they walked in toward the register to glance over the menu full of available flavours. One such drink caught their attention;

Affogatail
The icy-hot contrast of espresso poured over ice cream will give you the kick in the tail you need to get moving when you're sleepy.

It also reminded Ione of their close friendship with Limon; they owned a coffee cafe while she owned ice cream parlor. Humming in thought as Ione approached the Cherubun at register to place their order.

"Hello and welcome! You must be new here? My name is Beanny." Ione blinked at the smiling Cherubun and nodded politely "My regulars raves a lot about your cafe so I had to come and check out. I'm Ione by the way and I'd like an Affogatail please."
"Coming right up! Will you be taking a booth, a table or at the bar?"
"The bar please. I'm waiting on a friend but I'll take the drink. It sounds good" Beanny nodded at their response and gestured to the bar nearby for Ione to sit at while she got started on their order.

Ione sighed softly as they settled into a stool so they could watch Beanny get busy making the coffee and getting a scoop of ice cream ready in a mug. She was clearly skilled with making coffee which Ione had to appreciate. When Beanny went to set down the mug by Ione, they turned around upon hearing the cherubun greet with a
"Oh! Limon so nice to see you again! Are you adjusting well to your long ears?"
Ione's jaw dropped at the sight of their best friend's ears. It was longer than they remembered and held up in buns with long curled tails.

"What the fu--Sweet Sulfur, Limon!" Ione managed to hold back their curse, mindful of the cherubun and Beanny had to laugh softly as Limon plopped down into stool next to Ione.

"What in Murmur's name happened?!" Ione snapped, bewildered as Limon giggled.
"I drank one of Beanny's specialized drinks and my ears just started growing long. it was a shock! Turned out Beanny sells coffees that gives traits, can you believe it? It's been an adjustment but Argus and Bram absolutely loves it!"
Ione groaned at Limon's cheerful tone as she explained what had happened. They shook their head as they took a sip of their Affogatail.
"This is quite delicious, Beanny" The gluttony complimented "I'll have to remember to do this during the summer season at my cafe..." Ione mused as Limon giggled.

"Oh? OH is this your friend who owns a coffee cafe, Limon?" Beanny smiled in surprise and Limon nodded. "Yeah that's them! They've been too busy to stop by before now." Limon nudged Ione's shoulder and they sighed with fondness.

"Apologies. I do think I'll probably come here again...Provided I can develop a tolerance for that abomination that transports buns between Heavenly Embassy and Burrowgatory" Ione grumbled as Limon and Beanny shared a laugh.

"Took me a while to get used to that elevator, Ione. You'll be fine!" Limon tried to reassure her close friend only to face their scowling face which drew another laugh from the cherubun.

"I will have to visit your cafe sometime soon" Beanny smiled as Ione sipped their sweet drink with an appreciative nod.
"I'm open daily, Beanny. Come by when you can." Ione extended an invitation that had Beanny smiling before she was called away by another customer.

".........What the ever loving fuck??" Ione hissed under their breath to a laughing Limon.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't intend to gain Long Ears, it just happened! It takes more time to style but it's worth it though..." Ione could tell that Limon was still trying to adapt to her new change and only nodded.

"...I'm glad I came here. This place is lovely."
