The Citrus Necklace

Her curled ears perked up at discussion at the next table over regarding lucky charms as a plate was placed in front of her. Pink eyes glanced up to meet pale gray blue eyes before they shifted over toward the table.

“Right?! This hair clip has brought me so many lucky opportunities. It’s the reason I married this lovely woman!” A sweet Sloth chirped as she wrapped arms around the smiling Greed.

The owner of pale gray blue eyes, A Gluttony glanced down at the owner of pink eyes, A Lust as she brought a hand up to her necklace. Blue band surrounded by white droplets resembling citrus seeds.

“....Do you remember giving me this as a gift, Ione…?” She smiles softly as Ione settled into the seat next to her
“How could I not, Limon? We were struggling with our businesses at the time…” Ione shook their head “And you were struggling so much with everything else…”

Limon crossed her arms at that “That was our early days and I was still getting into trouble often….I hadn’t found the studio to join yet…” She frowned as she remembered how she had gotten tossed out of her previous studio and that had hurt her quite a bit as she had loved attending the martial arts classes.

“You were blowing through my savings with bailing you out” Ione sighed “Got to the point where you had to keep me on speed dial so I could help you escape the cops and save me carats…”

“Can't help it. You're faster and your coloring blends in easier at night time…..”
Ione shook their head with an eye roll. Limon was right. Ione had the advantage of their height, long legs and dark neutral coloring.

“It did help. Also getting you those equipment also helped more” Ione spoke, referencing Limon's outlet room full of equipment she could take her aggression out in had reduced her street fighting considerably thus reducing time spent behind bars. Limon nodded.

“Still. The necklace was a complete surprise….” Limon picked up her mug of sweetened caramel mocha to sip.

The Gluttony huffed in amusement
“Only because I was very angry at you at the time” Ione shook their head at how sheepish the Citrus Lust looked.
“Took me a bit to calm down. Buying that necklace has helped enormously” Ione leaned back in their seat.

“And it did eventually bring you luck for some reason. Especially when you found that studio shortly after…”

“Oh that was quite the surprise for everyone involved when I slipped inside thinking I had found a perfect hiding place only to realize it was an underground fighting pit and studio” Limon chuckled softly.

“I still refuse to take this necklace off. It’s helped me through so much. My parlor actually started thriving after I found that studio, and you were able to shift your focus back on your cafe” Ione nodded at her words
“You know, I only went out with the intention to go for a walk to clear my head after spending that entire morning thinking over our recent argument?” Ione started slowly and Limon’s pink eyes shot up to their face with curiosity.

“I was actually thinking of, well, cutting the friendship off. I didn’t need the additional stress, especially with…the recent drama with…well, my ex…” Ione sighed softly
“I was stressed and angry. I didn’t want to be too hasty. Then I walked past this jewelry store that sold food themed accessories…” Ione’s gray blue eyes shifted down to the necklace around Limon’s neck.

“Then I spotted that necklace on display in the smack center of that window display” Ione’s lips curved slightly “And I thought of you. Somehow it was like my anger just melted away and I had to buy you that. Luckily the owner recognized me from my cafe and we struck a deal… Well worth it because they’re one of my best customers now” The Coffee Gluttony shook their head with a soft chuckle.
“And you actually pulled around for the better”

“So you could say that this was a big turning point for both of us, huh?” Limon smiled, a hand touching the necklace around her neck.”Things has looked up for better ever since”
