Nesting
“Nest!! Nest, nest.. Fix the nest!” Cora huffed and puffed while pacing back and forth in his and Limin's bedroom, muttering to himself about nesting while Limin gave their admittedly very messy and unmade bed a puzzled look.
“Alright, babe, alright. Calm down, I'll fix up the nest for ya.” Limin shook his head, grabbing some extra blankets from the closet and tossing them on the nearby desk so he could fix the bed sheets. “What's gotten into you? You're actin weird.” He tsked, laying down a soft quilt on Cora's side of the bed, followed by a half fluffy half silky blanket over top of his large pile of pillows. “You feelin ok?” He shot the smaller bun a slightly worried look.
“I'm fine, I think. I just… I want nest.” Cora nodded in his own defense and watched carefully as his husband arranged the blankets, sheets, quilts, pillows, and various plushies in just the right way, reacting with frantic pips and squeaks the second anything was even remotely out of it's exclusive proper place (which was all laid out perfectly in his own mind…poor Limin was playing a complete guessing game). “Ok.. Now that one goes there…” He pointed to the plush in Limin's hand and then to the spot directly between their pillows, slowly and carefully crawling his way onto the bed once it had been placed down in it's proper spot. He gently pawed around at the blankets and sheets until he was able to slip underneath and snuggle down into the messy, yet absolutely perfect, nest of soft fabrics.
“Is that better, baby?” Limin gave Cora an amused smile, climbing into bed himself and gently petting the other bun's messy head of blue hair. “All nice and cozy in the nest now?” He nuzzled into his beloved happily, silently pondering his odd shift in behavior. Was it because it was breeding season? But Cora wasn't… y'know. They'd made sure that wouldn't happen. Maybe it was just a lingering instinct?
“Mhm..” Cora let out a wistful happy sigh, his eyes fluttering closed as he pressed close to Limin, a soft almost purr like sound rumbling in his throat as he rested his head gently on the other bun's chest. “Thank you.”
“You're welcome baby.” Limin chuckled, blinking a few times when he heard a soft ‘foomph’ noise on the floor next to the bed. Glancing over he saw… an absolute pile of imps. All of the various creatures were his own, aside from Cora's Harpup Sploot, of course. “Ah… I don't think there's room for all of you…” He chuckled weakly as they all stared up at him, not exactly wanting to share the bed with all of them while Cora was in ‘need to be absolutely bundled up to the tits in as much cloth as physically possible’ mode.
“Nonsense! Don't be silly, Limin. Let the babies on the bed. More for the nest.” Cora giggled softly and leaned up away from Limin so he could turn over and pick them all up.
“If you insist..” Limin propped himself up on his elbow and turned over, carefully scooping up each imp one by one and letting them find their own place to nestle into amongst the sea of fabric and warmth, handing Cora his Remil Vinnie directly instead so Cora could cuddle and baby him. Cora seemed really really attached to Vinnie, might as well not even belong to Limin at this point.
Cora gushed and cooed as the albino Remil was passed over. “Ohhh who's the bestest little guy ever in the whole wide world??” He gently scritched the little creature with his finger, delighting in the little noises it made in response to his loving touch. “Such a sweet little thing… Ohh I love you so much, cutie.” Cora blinked and glanced up at Limin who was holding Sploot, both staring at him with narrowed eyes. He gave them both a sheepish smile and laughed. “I love you both too. Don't give me that look. Look how cute he is!”
Limin tried to resist, but gave up and cracked a smile, tucking Sploot into Cora's bundle. “Vinnie is very cute, Cora.” He leaned over and kissed him on the head quickly, making sure there were no imps in the way before settling back down on the bed, grabbing the remote to their LED lights while Cora pulled up the remote for their TV on his phone. They'd lost the actual remote ages ago and well… It takes money to replace. “What color?”
“Red. Good nest color.”
Limin chuckled at his response. “Whatever you say, baby.” He changed the lights and put the remote away, glancing up at the TV as Cora tapped through their video feed, snorting when he chose to watch some dumb content farm's ‘hack’ compilation. “This what we're sleeping to?”
“Mhm.” Cora yawned, settling in and softly making quips at the ridiculous content, slowly growing quiet as he drifted off to sleep.
Limin spooned up to his sleeping husband and nuzzled into the back of his neck, closing his eyes and letting out a relaxed sigh as he slowly drifted off himself.
