dazzles first imp

Before Dazzles got her very own imp, she needed to learn how to take care of one. So, she decided she would take a day and dedicate it to volunteering and learning how to take care of an imp. She was a bit nervous, but mostly excited. Playing with imps all day sounded like a blast! 

The first imp that approached her was a impup, yipping at her delightfully, like it had something exciting to tell her. She giggled as she looked at the black creature, extending her hand forward to greet it. It cautiously sniffed her fingers, and then offered her a big lick. It was slimy and warm. 

Her first task at hand was to feed it - easy enough. She read the instructions on the bag of food, and used a provided measuring cup to measure out a proper meal for the imp. She watched as the impup gobbled up the food, wagging its tail with all the joy in the world. 

After feeding the creature, the next step was to take it on a walk. This part sounded just as easy! Dazzles gathered a harness and leash from the collection on the wall, and returned to her companion for the day. The harness was awful confusing to look at, but she eventually got it figured out. She slipped it over the head of the impup, and went to grab one of its paws to slide it through the arm holes, except.. she was greeted with a loud growl. She immediately dropped the paw, and looked at the imp, watching as it started to wag its tail again. Weird... 

Once more, she tried to get its paw, only to receive the same treatment. How was she supposed to walk it if she couldn't get its harness on? Maybe a treat would do the trick. She stood up, and made way to one of the treat jars, where she collected a handful of treats. First, she gave one to the impup - just to earn its trust - and then, she held one up as she grabbed the imp's paw. No growling... success! 

The harness was put on, and she soon attached the leash. She started to walk, except, she felt tugging on the other end of the leash. She sighed a little, looking back at the impup as it tried to bite and free itself from the leash. While holding out a treat, she guided the imp to follow along after her. Luckily, the food was enough to distract it from the leash. Every few steps she gave it a treat, until, it was following along without a treat being held out. Wow! She was pretty good at this for not being well versed in caring for imps.. 

She took the impup on a walk around the facility, giving it a treat every now and then for its good behavior. The more they walked, the happier the little impup seemed to be. Each step was more springy than the last, until the creature was all but prancing as it walked. She couldn't help but laugh at how silly it looked. Perhaps the name Prancer would be fitting...
