Despite their eccentricities, and the odd date they'd been on, Iris found herself quite taken with the strange bun - Deirdre.
Imagine her surprise when the flowers arrived on her doorstep, a quiet announcement that they felt the same.
She read the note - there was no explanation for the meaning of each flower, but she didn't need them to tell her, as she knew the language well.
Red carnations, for an aching heart.
Pink camellias, for longing.
Blue Salvia, so she knew they were thinking of her.
And tarragon flowers, for lasting interest.
Well... perhaps she'd be seeing them again soon, after all.
