New Helper

Beanny was very busy with their coffee shop that they started when they came to Burrgatory. Life here was very different and it would definitely be a lot easier if she had a bit of help. Paradise Cafe was doing well, almost too well - succubuns streamed in through their doors daily, all looking for a coffee, latte, espresso… The orders were never ending! 

Beanny had heard that imps could be trained to help and by golly, was she going to take one in and train it on how to do so! The cherrubun headed off to Hutch’s Imporium to seek assistance with her idea. As they pushed open the door, Beanny was greeted with the sounds and smells of various imps.

At the sound of the bell above the door, Hutch stuck their head out of the back area. “C-Can I help you?” They asked, looking really tentative and worried about what was going to happen. It was known that the succubun wasn’t the biggest fan of others.

But the cherrubun knew a secret - get Hutch talking about imps and they’d happily open up. With a smile, Beanny greeted the bun, “Hi there! I’ve been told that this is where I want to come if I want to get an imp and learn how to take care of them?”

 Hutch’s face immediately went from anxious to intrigued, “Yes, this is just the place! How can I help you?”

“Well, I’ve been here for a little while now and I’ve seen that imps can be used to help you accomplish tasks?” Beanny asked, a huge smile on their face.

“Imps are very helpful, especially as companions. I think that you’d really enjoy a impup.” They lit up as they began to go through how to train the imp, “First thing first, you want to make sure that you have a bond with your imp. If you’re not kind to them, they won’t heed your instructions. And never, ever strike one! That’s not how to get their approval.”

Beanny got out their notepad for taking orders out to start writing things down, “And what do they eat?” 

“They don’t actually need to eat anything, but they adore dango! And interestingly enough, they change colors based on the type of dango you get from Dan!” Hutch enthused. The succubun knelt down towards a group of impups who were yipping softly. “Let’s see which impup takes to you!”

Beanny excitedly knelt down and began to pet the different imps. One, smaller than average impup trotted over to her and wiggled its little tail. The cherrubun smiled widely and said, “Hello little one!” They gently picked the impup up and looked at Hutch. “I think this little one is my new friend.”

The imp licked Beanny’s face and yipped happily. Hutch’s face split in the widest grin, “I do think so!”

The next few hours, Beanny eagerly learned from Hutch exactly how to take care of their new imp. While it was a bit to process, the two buns seemed to get along very well. The time flew by quickly and when Beanny thought she had a handle on it, she thanked Hutch for all of their help. They settled up on the carats they owed the shopkeeper and made Hutch promise they’d come get a latte on the house. The cherrubun and the succubun may have been very different on the surface, but they both parted knowing they had a new friend.
