Everything going great at the Imporium
Drimi volunteers at the Imporium semi-regularly, since she loves imps so much and is friendly with Hutch. Creatures often gravitate to Drimi, with that way many of them have to sense when someone is the most likely to understand their needs... such as the pressing need for more petting or treats or to get that exact spot behind the ear.
Hutch invited her to come help out on grooming day, so she brought Mallow along to help. Mallow knew less about imps than Drimi and much less than Hutch, but always liked them and figured how different can they be from his own little buddy Fortune?
Mallow, it turns out, lacked not only Hutch's long experience and knack for knowing when and how to be gentle or firm, nor Drimi's natural love and patience for anything she deems cute (which is nearly everything), but also the knowledge that Fortune was apparently jealously protective of himself. The little ryudra took extreme offense to one of the corvats getting too close to "dad" and they began to have a loud argument, in which Fortune, seeking a better grip, ended up wrapping his tail around Mallow's head such that he was acting as a living blindfold.
Hutch rushed in for the assist, leaving the little mamoo he was bathing in the bath, who of course immediately jumped out- soaked, covered in suds, sloshing water everywhere, and delighted to join in on whatever party was happening over there.
Drimi should, by rights, have noticed such a commotion. But she was in her element, covered in snuggly imps, having just brushed Twitchy and a loafki who was grateful for the very good scratching offered by the brush. Humming gently to the creatures, which they seemed to delight in, they all sat on a towel together just kind of vibing.
Thankfully Hutch untangled Fortune and recaptured the corvat, but after that Mallow stuck to letting his jealous pet entertain some of the baby imps, because for whatever reason they were exempt from his possessive streak.
