“ACHOO!”
“Sheesh! Get a rug and start cleaning your nose, you dumbass! You are spilling snot all over the floorboards!” Fei yelled as he crossed his arms while glancing towards Kazahana who is weakly rubbing his nose to stop his sneezing.
“S-sorry boss Fei, the weather is still cold after that fireworks show you did last night,” Kazahana stated as he covered his nose when he sneezed again onto his sleeves. “...sniff I didn't expect the weather to b-be this fucking cold.”
“This is why I told you to wear the winter robes I provided for you.” Fei scolded as he pinched Kazahana's ears with his fingers, causing the latter to whine out like a misbehaved child. “Alright, come here you little kid.”
“Ow! Ow! I-I am no kid! I c-can handle myself!” Kazahana stated as he bared his fangs in a pissed-off manner to Fei who immediately dragged him out of the office and to the dressing room for the temple. “Oi, what are you doing?!”
“Giving you something warm. We are going out, idiot.”
The long walk is excruciating for Kazahana at least, yet the scent of something misty and warm causes him to twitch his nose for a bit in curiosity. Fei is walking ahead of him, his hands hidden in his sleeves as they walk down the cobblestone path leading to a trail of grass and trees. Kazahan grumbles behind him, along with the three ghosts floating around his body who were cooing in interest.
“Where even are we?” Kazahana asked and Fei sighed.
“A little secluded part of Burrowgatory. Other succubuns went here for the sake of warming up.”
Kazahana quirks up a brow. “Warming up?”
Then the mist hits his face. It is warm as if it is a steam tickling his skin. Kazahana furrowed his brow, a bit curious about where the both of them were heading. The trees and leaves parted ways as they followed through on the path they took, wild imps in the bushes would let out soft cries, shrills, and chirps as they went on to their natural order in this forest.
Kazahana can see the faint sheet of frost on the grass and leaves, the environment is still cold and he can't help but sneeze violently behind Fei who just grumbled in frustration.
"The last thing I ever wanted from this trek is to be covered with your snot. Cover your face, would you?" Fei stated as Kazahana clicked his tongue.
"I would if the path we are taking is warmer, this place is cold as shit!"
"Hold yourself, we are closer."
"Can you even tell me where we are going?! At least I can understand if you tell me!" Kazahana stated as Fei walked off from the cobblestone path and trudged through a parted bush causing Kazahana to look even more worried and confused. "Hey! The path is this way!"
Fei glances back, the look on his eyes shows that he knows what he is doing.
"I know." He simply said and continued walking away from the path. Kazahana scoffed for a moment and reluctantly followed behind him. "Just trust me."
"I know I may be an ass but I don't want to see you acting like an old man and get yourself hurt."
"Wow, I thank you for the concern but I am fine." Said Fei as he continued trekking down the bushes until he stopped by a large layer of warm mist brushing their cheeks. "Hold up, we went too deep."
"You can strip."
"Eh-WHAT?" Kazahana blinks his eyes profusely in shock and horror. "Hold it, old man, what the fuck did you just say?!"
"Strip, it is better that way once we get through the mist." Fei casually said as he began to disrobe himself allowing Kazahana to see a glimpse of his skin making him blush.
"FEI, WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"What? I can't wet my clothes when we get through the water."
"W-water?" Kazahana looked even more confused and noticed his ghosts turning their faces away from Fei to save the little integrity that they had left out of respect.
Fei softly smiles and chuckles, as if finding the entire interaction to be funny. "We are in a natural hot springs area, some succubuns went to this place to warm up in this very cold month."
"H-hot... springs...?" Kazahana quirks a brow and sees Fei removing the top part of his black robes while sighing. His face seems to be in bliss at the warmth of the mist touching his skin. "Wait... so you brought me to the... hot springs?"
"Yeah no shit, where should I even bring you? You are utterly cold when we are conversing in the courtyard." Fei said as he immediately started removing the lower part of his robes. "Come on, the water is hot enough for us to be soaked in."
"You can see the hot springs with how heavy the mist is?" Kazahana asked in shock and Fei grumbled a bit in response.
"I've been through this place a lot, so I know how hot or cold is the environment around here," Fei stated as he fully unclothed himself in the mist. Fortunately, Kazahana can see the mist obscures the more private areas to keep a hold of his sanity. Such as an irony for a succubun like him.
"...what are you waiting for?" Fei asked and then Kazahana sighed, a little reluctant to strip himself off his clothes.
"F-fine... where do you put your clothes?"
"By those rocks over there," Fei said followed by the sound of splashing and rippling of water. "make sure you don't dirty them, we don't like having others think something else if they see your clothes covered with dirt."
It took a very long moment for Kazahana to fully remove his clothes making himself bare for the world to see. His foot is set down to the surface of the water and he can feel the heat rising to his skin in a way that brings him bliss. The coldness that used to creep on his skin vanished as he fully submerged the lower parts of his body into the hot springs. Kazahana sighed and settled his chin to touch the water, allowing his head above it.
"Feeling good?" Fei asked in a soft voice and Kazahana grumbled in response. It is a positive sound and Fei hums back to show the acceptance.
The mist of the natural hot springs waft through the air, gives him a sense of peace and tranquility. Until Fei starts asking his friend on the side.
"Does your joints hurt?" He asked with a tinge of concern in his tone.
Kazahana chuckles a little as he closes his eyes to relish the feeling of warmth throughout his whole body. His black tail swished under the water.
"Nah... it feels good."
"Good thing I brought you here in the hot springs, or else you will be sneezing the courtyard away." Fei said and stretched his arms up above the hot water. Both succubuns have their pale skin being flushed from the heat of the water, a sign that their skins are being warmed up from the cold weather.
"How do you even know of this place?" Kazahana asked while the three of his ghosts were also submerged in the water although there were no rippling waters around their incorporeal bodies. Their faces also seem to be showing signs of pleasure in the warmth.
Fei snickers a little but tries his best to remain composed in the hot springs. "I asked a couple of friends of mine. It's a long story."
"Man... if I knew about this sooner then I might not bug you around." Fei scoffed when Kazahana said that. The two greedy succubuns were sighing in bliss the moment they enjoyed the heat of the hot springs.
"Just don't sneeze in the pool okay-"
"A-ACHOO!"
"Fucking hell, KAZAHANA! YOU SPILL SNOT IN THE HOT SPRINGS!" A splash of hot water flew onto Kazahana's face making him cough up in surprise, but he didn't fight back.
Kazahana seems to be smiling in happiness now that he gets to enjoy this little haven from the winter chill in Burrowgatory.
A little haven to escape the cold, Kazahana and Fei enjoy the warmth of the natural bath to enjoy the new year.
