[PROMPT] Mochi Master

Ignition stretches slowly as he enters Dans humble stand. The much bigger doll is waiting there with a raised eyebrow and a soft snort.

"Back again, Are we?" He asks, his face doesn't show it but theres a small note of amusement when he speaks.

"I didn't spend all this time practicing for no reason!" Ignition grins, arms sliding down to his sides as his tail flicks softly back and forth.

It was slightly embarrassing to admit but...he actually HAD been practicing a lot. When he had gotten the hang of dango, he was excited, because it meant another cullinary skill he could add to his existing ones. However...When Dan had last brought up mochi and its difficulty, Ignition had a fire lit under him. One of his partners, Rowan, happens to be a big fan of mochi. The man would never admit it out loud, but Ignition knows its true first-hand and he really wants to master it and get the hang of it so he can make a huge gift for the new year.

The new years party was soon so, He had been practicing mochi on his own. He just desperately needed some pointers from Dan, he would rather sink into the ground or melt into a puddle than end up making a load of mochi that isn't correct.

"Well then." Dan pauses and tosses a mallet onto the counter in front of Ignition, "Show me what you've managed."

Ignition is nervous out of his mind, Why wouldn't he be? Massive conventially attractive doll is hovering over him like a tower as he works on what he thinks is the right way to make mochi.

He does what he has many times over in the past months. Putting the main flour ingredients along with powder and sugar, and flavouring in with water, and making sure to stir carefully. He then heats the mixture and stirs, and is about to heat it again before Dan steps in briefly.

"Hold on. Add flavourings now, the next heating will alow things to taste better instead of dousing it on after. In most cases i would reccomend mixing it in before the warming process." Dan stated and Ignition nods. His eyes are wide, like he is a tiny little puppy being told by the local old dog why he's being an idiot. He doesn't mind it at all!

As reccommended, he adds the flavouring in and continues, putting some starch on the counter surface so things wouldn't stick. He takes the warmed dough and rolls it first onto balls, then flattens each one.

"Now add filling, don't overdo it. It may look small now but trust me, Its strong enough as is." Dan rumbles as he intently watches the process of his silly little apprentice.

Ignition nods, careful to add a normal amount of filling...as opposed to the amount he had done previously in attempts.

"You've done this before." Dan comments with amusement as Ignition adds little touches to his mochi balls, pinching them off and placing them back down properly. "Dont forget to shape it to be more rounded using the palms of both your hands, it will give it a less square edge."

"Haha, Well, Yeah! How else would I have gotten Explosion to be that colour?" Ignition replies in a chipper tone, taking Dans pointer into practice to make a properly round and cozy looking mochi ball shape.

Dan glances over at the doorway, Where the small red sceil had decided to perch comfortably and curl into a comfy shape. The imp opened its eyes briefly to glance up at the massive doll, a small little cloud coming out of its nose shaped area, before it settled back down to try and snooze. Unfortunately this wouldn't work out very well...since Ignition finishes making the mochi and it catches the Sceils attention.

Of course it would, Its the gold dusted mochi that Ignition had made him in the first place...only this time it was much better and cleanly executed. The secil slithers up Ignitions leg and onto the work desk, Immediately taking a large chunk from one of the freshly made mochi.

"E-EXPLOSION-" Somehow the black bun is surprised by this turn of event but Dan only snorts a small chuckle from his chest.

"You made its favourite, I'm not surprised by its actions. Your mochi skills are decent, I can see you've been practicing hard. Just remember what i said about the process points you had jumbled around and you'll be just fine."

"Ha, Yeah i am...definitely going to have to write those down. In the correct order. Or i'll forget like immediately."

Ignition has a big project to complete now that he's more confident in his mochi making abilities. It will be tough, but he's actually never been more excited for something...in a long time.
