Safe Haven pt. 2
Lyra and Mercy’s conversation had continued far past the end of the surging storm that forced her into the Church of Sulfur in the first place; it was the middle of the night before she finally realized she should get home before the rain picked up again. She emerged from the common area, leaving Mercy behind to clean up their teacups and what little dishes they’d made from their snacks. The church was dimly lit, but the halls didn’t have an unsettling feeling to them even in the darkness. It was a serene feeling. Lyra closed her eyes and enjoyed the way her steps echoed down the empty halls.
“Miss Lyra?” She heard a kind, male voice call out to her. He couldn’t have been terribly far. She opened her eyes to see Oleander coming into the church from the main entrance. The night beyond him was dark, the plants that normally glowed to give light were nearly all darkened. The head priest took a few steps closer, a kindly but lecherous smile on his face.
“Why I didn’t realize you were here. There are no services this late at night. Did you come seeking guidance?”
“No, no, nothing like that,” she replied softly. “There was a storm earlier and well, the Church was the first shelter I could find,” Lyra admitted honestly. “I’ve just been talking with Sister Mercy ever since. They were kind enough to get me some towels to dry off.”
“Ah, Mercy, so kind, so giving. They’re a true shining example of the church.” Though his words were pious, his gaze was less so. His eyes wandered slowly over Lyra’s body and he took a step forward, a step that some might consider too close. But not Lyra. Her blue eyes met Oleander’s pink ones; she looked up at him through heavy lashes.
“But it’s so late at night now, are you planning to walk home all alone?” He feigned concern, but his hand reached up slowly to rest on her hip. He gave it a gentle, reassuring squeeze. His tail flickered behind him, betraying his interest in her.
“Well I suppose I hadn’t really thought about it,” she said as she batted her lashes up at him. She pressed in closer and let her bosom press up against his chest, trapping his rosary between her breasts. “It can be so dangerous out there, all on my lonesome,” she whispered quietly as she looked up at him. “But what will I ever do? I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
Oleander’s eyes lit up when Lyra was the one to come onto him strongly first. It was clearly something he wasn’t quite used to. He put his other hand on her hip as well to hold her flush against him. He dipped his head low and his voice came out in a low, husky tone.
“Well, I suppose you’ll just have to spend the night at the church. Though, I should warn you, we don’t have any spare bedrooms available. But fret not,” he said as one of his hands started to wander lower than just Lyra’s hip. “I would be more than willing to share my room with you, at least for the night.”
Even though he was being lecherous and his hand grabbed lightly at her ass, Oleander still held some level of grace, even in this situation. Lyra couldn’t help but giggle; her innocent ploy was up, she couldn’t do it with a straight face any longer. Her hands wandered slowly up Oleander’s chest before settling there.
“Would you show me to your room? I would like to get settled for the night…”
That was all Oleander needed to hear. He took her by the hand and led her through the darkened, hallowed halls. They were going the opposite direction of where she’d come from with Mercy, so this wing of the abbey was unfamiliar to her, but no less beautiful. Their footsteps echoed off the stone walls until they came to a stop in front of a wooden door. Oleander pulled his hand out of Lyra’s grasp to hold the door open for her instead.
“After you, my sweet,” he said softly, as if the two of them might be caught. Though Lyra knew the church encouraged this type of behavior and indulging in vices, it still felt thrilling to be doing this inside the abbey.
She walked in ahead of Oleander and he quickly followed her in, showing her the way to his bedroom. He managed to only light a few candles before Lyra walked up behind him and pressed her body flush against his.
“We don’t need that much light, do we?” She asked in a breathy tone. She didn’t want to wait any longer to start touching him. And from the look he gave her from over his shoulder, he didn’t want to wait either.
“Not at all, let’s honor Lord Murmur by indulging in our vices,” he said with a sly grin.
The pair of lust succubuns spent the entire night together, though there wasn’t much sleep to be had in the abbey that night…
