Snowy Adventure

Creeping through the snow, Mot burrowed his face into his large scarf. While he did enjoy messing around during any time of the year, usually he stayed nearby home in the winter- ready to come back in from a time outside and be welcomed by hugs and cuddles by his partner Isolde. Most of the time this was followed by hot chocolate and the both of them curling up nearby the fireplace. Instead, he’d heard rumours of an imp that had him perking up, curiosity burning bright enough to have him ignore the chill and head out to the woods instead.

He had left Isolde inside, remembering to leave a note so she wouldn’t get worried and bounded out and into the newest adventure he’d decided to go on- the plan to hopefully surprise her with either evidence or even the imp itself should it want to come home with him. Grin pulling across his lips to show off his sharp fangs in his excitement, Mot gave into the energy to do a cartwheel, followed by a flip and a cheer.

Energy only seeming to grow as he peered through the trees and bumbled his way through the snow, his mismatched eyes darted everywhere as he continued further in- searching staunchly for a Freign to befriend. This was a whole new adventure, and he absolutely loved to go on those. This new one was a bit different than usual, but no less exciting. Quite truthfully though, he didn’t know very much about the creatures, other than their apparent rarity- but he did interact with Isolde’s imp’s Sonnet and Beni, and he felt it shouldn’t be too hard to befriend the solitary creature if he brought a bribe. Said bribe was an adorable little blue sweater that he’d used a couple years before in his bun form and that he hoped wouldn’t be too big for the Freign.

The sound of crunching snow that didn’t come from him had Mot pausing and tilting his head, his fuzzy ears passing by his cheek and almost distracting him from the sound. He allowed a stuffy sniff and rubbed his nose with his free hand, before- in hopes of being correct, he flopped right down onto the snow. A shiver left him but he ignored the cold as much as he could and instead began to wait- because if he’d learned anything other than bribes working wonderfully for imps, it was that also waiting patiently worked quite well too. Letting the imp come to you first was hard, mostly because Mot didn’t tend to usually be particularly patient. When not napping he was rather hyperactive and loud, something that helped with his work in the circus, but most certainly wouldn't help when trying to befriend a shyer and more finicky creature such as a Freign.

The issue of course, of letting himself be still and curled up, was that he started to droop and feel more.. Tired. Scrunching his nose, he let out a huff and shifted the smallest bit, pulling his legs up into a criss-crossed position under himself and squirming until he’d mostly shifted the snow into a circular shape underneath himself. Time passed, and while it was still bitingly cold, his head kept drooping, and his eyes kept shifting closed without his permission. Eventually, he failed to keep himself awake, and ended up curling up for a nap.

He woke up colder than before but also with something in his arms he didn’t recognise. Blinking blearily, he looked down- and found himself going wide eyed in surprise at the small creature that had made itself comfortable using his chest as a giant pillow. He gaped, stupidly, for a moment- before glee began to overwrite how tired and cold he was, and a large toothy grin pulled across his features.

‘’Yesss.’’ He hissed out happily, followed by a cheery giggle. The Freign snuffled, and pushed a too cold nose against his neck almost as if in punishment, making him let out a little squeak of surprise.

Still excited about his apparent success, Mot let his hands shift and did a less coordinated pet atop the small creature's head. He felt a bit of mourning over not being able to feel it properly with his large gloves on, but he had plenty of time in the future to do so without them- well.. Hopefully.

‘’Wanna come home with me buddy?’’ He asked, softly, hopefully- shifting his grip so he wouldn’t drop the imp.

This time, when the Freign’s nose pressed against his neck, he took it as agreement instead of chastisement. Grinning, he gently held the creature to himself as he stumbled to his feet. The imp made no move to try and squirm away, and there was a bit of a pep in Mot’s steps as he began his way back home- excited to bring his new friend home to meet Isolde and her own imps. More than that, he was also excited to try and see if the small being would fit in the sweater he’d planned to give them, and he was determined to try it out on the Freign with his partner's help!

He stumbled happily inside only a bit later, all grins and shivers, holding his new friend like a trophy in his arms and excited for both introductions and any further adventures that he would be having with said new friend.
