Can Ballini's Ears be Styled?

There are only ear styles Ballini always stuck to: Up in something that could resemble a bun or tied back loosely in the back. The updo was mostly saved for her dancing and aerial silks while the back tied were for more daily basis. It was extremely rare to see her ears in any other style.

The ribbons stitching down her ears were often the major reason why the dancer so rarely styled her ears. They made it difficult for puffs, double puffs and curled as the ribbons often did not cooperate or tangled too easily. Ballini took great pride in keeping her ears very clean and well cared of.

Once, Ballini had been at her dance studio during a break time and she had been stretching her limbs when the topic of discussion had shifted to ear styles and few pair of eyes had turned toward her with mild curiosity as she had been the only one in studio at the time with something in ears.

"You mind if we experiment on your ears?" someone had asked and Ballini had shrugged
"I'm just as curious. Let's try it out. As is I usually do updo or in the back" she had admitted. One of the older dolls had moved over to settle in behind her and Ballini stopped stretching to adjust her position more comfortably.

"Let's try pigtails!" they had chimed as the ribbon tying ears together was pulled loose thus letting her ears flop down her back. Her ears was gently massaged to release tension before the left one was carefully folded upwards then a black ribbon was being tied around it then the right followed with being folded up. The doll shuffled Ballini around to face the mirror and she winced
"Okay I like it but my head's starting to throb. The ribbons are being pulled on a bit as well" she groaned as her ears was quickly released and the doll frowned.

"S-Sorry...." "No you're fine" Ballini sighed "I'm just sensitive, it's ridculous" she admitted as she released her hair from the updo; massaging her scalp
"I might try pigtails again another day through" she promised as another doll replaced the one behind her.

"I have a feeling puffs won't work too well but I want to try it. Is that ok?" they asked her and Ballini slowly nodded
"I think so too" she quietly admitted as her ears was carefully tied in puffs then second pair was added to each. Ballini winced as her ear ribbons was pulled and the ties had to be removed with a disappointed sigh
"Didn't think so"

"What about tied in the front?" a third doll piped in and Ballini gestured to her chest stitching with a head shake
"Oh yeah that would pose a problem. Side ponytail? Nah the ribbons......Can we try to curl your ears?" Ballini nodded as she was crowded and her ears began to be meticulously curled. It was left to be set for time being so Ballini was tasked with coming up with sketches of potential costumes for upcoming performances while everyone else got to practise.
Several hours later, the rollers was pulled away and her ears was lovely curled....then it slowly. unravelled on itself and stuck down her ears. Ballini promptly fell over in a fit of laughter while everyone else wailed and screamed at the failure that had occured.
Clearly. Curled ears was a no-go.

That is why Ballini stuck to tied up or in the back. Pigtails were extremely rare. Her ears were simply not compatible with any other ear styles. A true tragedy indeed.
