Skillfull hands
A soft sigh left Endora’s lips as her fingers tapped against the sink in the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror, nibbling at her lip nervously. Jackal had just gotten ahold of her over the phone letting her know she had a lead on the feather and it ended up being in Mercy’s office. Ever since she has been wracked with nerves, seeing as this was a HUGE deal and would be hard to pull off alone.
Jackal had asked for her help with getting into the office for Misty’s sake. Endora had to admit, the last time they were looking around and waving around the feather, Mercy did act quite secretively, but that could be for good reason! Perhaps, looking into things too much could be more dangerous than they thought. They all had no ideas as to what this would pertain, or as to why Mercy would be hiding it behind her office doors. What if it was harmful? What if she was hiding it for good reason?
A low groan left her lips as she slowly rubbed at her face, shaking her head. There actually wasn’t any real answer to her question, so of course, she did end up agreeing to help Jackal and her new friend. She had been trying to look up anything on lockpicking, even trying it herself.
Endora had dainty hands so it wasn’t too hard of a possibility for her to be able to maneuver something into a lock, right? Wrong. Endora slowly picked up her bobby pin once more, her eyes focused on the lock in front of her as she slowly inserted the small end of the bobby pin with a soft ‘click.’ Slowly, she moved her hand around, listening for another soft click. Her ears twitched slightly until…SNAP! A groan left her lips as the bobby pin clattered to the floor into two pieces. A frown etched over her features as she looked over the mess. She slowly picked up the pieces and discarded them to the side with the many other broken bobby pins.
Maybe she could use something smaller? A paperclip, perhaps. She went out into her living room, looking around her room before coming across a side table by her couch. “Ah. I should have some in here…” She trailed softly, slowly opening the drawer and shuffling through the many objects. Staplers, papers, sticky notes, and….Paperclips! She smiled as she pulled out the small container of paperclips and closed up the drawer quickly.
She went back to where her setup was in the bathroom and sighed, setting back up the lock that she had been working on and tried again. She bent the paperclip slightly and made a thin line, inspecting it as she did. “Perfect..” She mumbled slowly, proceeding to slip the paperclip into the lock and listening for the ‘click.’ She maneuvered the paperclip slowly until….’click.’ She smirked and continued to move around the paperclip, slowly, listening for the signs of the clicks from the little lock. ‘Click…click..’ She gasped as the lock popped open, her ears perking up slightly as her mismatched eyes lit up. “Hell yeah!” She cackled before lifting up the lock in triumph. Just to make sure she had it, she closed the lock back up and made another makeshift lock pick. Her eyes narrowed in concentration as she did so, wanting to make sure it was perfect.
Once she was happy with the shape of her lock pick she then tried once more, inserting the pick into the lock. She maneuvered it around listening for the clicks once more and…Clank. It popped open more and she could barely contain her excitement as she grabbed her phone and dialed Jackal back.
“Hey…I’m ready, let's go.” She couldn’t contain the smirk on her face as she heard Jackal do a little victory holler. “Hell yeah, let's go!”
Endora tries to hone in on her abilities to unlock a lock.
