Kitchens were always Ione's favorite place to be. No matter where or the size. As long as it had adequate counter space, and working appliances; Ione was content to be there, chopping up food, working the appliances, and producing delicious food made from whatever were found in the kitchen.

Their top favorite kitchen? The one at their humble estate they shared with their several partners. It was spacious with counter space spanning across three walls plus a large island smack in middle of the kitchen. There was a section for flat top grill and stovetop. Two fridges nested in corners and Ione had two ovens neatly stacked on top of other near the stovetops. There is a walk in pantry filled to brim with delicious fresh produce and seasonings. Everything Ione needed was in there.

The floor was laid with beautiful square slate ceramic tiles in dark brown grey shade. Ione had taken hours to decide on the tiles for floor and gone through heavy discussion with their partners.
The backsplash along the wall behind the cook tops were laid with glazed rectangular ceramic tiles in the varying tones of sky blue. Ione had been debating between sky blue, turquoise and white but one of their partners had convinced them to go with sky blue to contrast with the dark flooring.

It had been excellent choice and Ione was grateful to them for that as they had gone with dark grey-brown almost black wood stain for cabinets to match the flooring. The walls were all in a shade of soft cream to give the kitchen a calming feel as well as to compliment the backsplash tiles.

The counters had been a source of many many arguments between Ione and their partners. Dark? Light? Medium? Colourful? Marble? Granite? Plain? Wooden? Laminate? They had managed to narrow it down to two material choices: marble and granite. They still could not settle on the design for days on end. Even weeks. Limon had attempted to mediate the arguments to no avail.

A counter had finally been chosen. It was granite counter in color of cream, gold and black speckles. Yet when it had gotten installed, Ione had immediately hated it and had gotten angry with one of their partners for getting their way as the counter had looked out of place in the kitchen. That partner had profusely apologized and gotten them replaced with off-white marbled in beautiful shades of light and dark grey marble counters which immensely pleased Ione. They had gloated for days on end.

All of the appliances were stainless steel for easy cleaning. As for lights, there were three types.
One linear chandelier handing over the island, three lights angled straight down and offered enough to light just island.
One track light curling throughout the length of kitchen ceiling; lights angling at different spots. It was also dimmable if desired for control of atmosphere.
And under all the cabinets was mounted lights to offer dimmable lights for when someone wanted a glass of water or midnight snack.
Both track and chandelier lights were in simple sleek black.

The decorations were kept minimalist and in neutral sleek black as to avoid clutter so Ione could easily navigate their way around the kitchen whipping up something delicious for their partners. There were slow cooker, rice cooker, pressure cooker, convention oven, air fryer, toaster, microwave, and many other small kitchen appliances that could be used for producing food.

The large sink made for easy dish washing and the rack mounted above were used for drying dishes so water could drip into sink beneath.
There was enough room to cook up a storm for friends gathering or for simple meal with their partners.

Ione absolutely adored their home kitchen, it gave them peace from the hectic daily life at their cafe, The Daily Grind and the gluttony bun was free to experiment away as they please.
In fact if one opened one of cabinet doors on the island counter, they'd find it filled to brim with recipe books including a notebook noting down recipes Ione had found while researching the feather and birds the other day.

There is a whiteboard on the wall next to the fridge, with hand written list of things that needed to be purchased which were usually vegetables that had run out.

It was usually Ione who took control of the kitchen as it was their precious domain but they often shared it with one of their partners who absolutely loved to bake and the pair often worked together on developing recipes. Limon often stopped by to work with them on recipes for both Daily Grind and Citrusy Cream Parlor.

It was a wonderful spacious kitchen for Ione to find calm and peace in. To destress from hectic day. To simply enjoy experimenting without any outside pressure.
