Where is the best place in Burrowgatory?
A question many succubuns had asked themselves over the years, and truth be told, it was a hard question to answer.
With so many amazing and fantastical places etched into the city, choosing just one place to be the best place was a hard task for many of the city’s residents.
From the quaint little coffee shops and the bustling high-street clothing outlets to the lavish nightclubs and gorgeous imp parks - Burrowgatory was practically a paradise for those cloven-hooved and full of sin.
But, for at least one bun, the best place in Burrowgatory, a place where he could relax and enjoy the ‘rays’ of the sun-like heat that beamed down on the water, was his boat.
Dagon had retired years ago. His life had been full of excitement, and every day had been full to the brim with a busy schedule, meetings, stock evaluations, and everything else that went into building and maintaining a business.
The large, blue, tentacle-covered succubun was the owner and head holder of a large ‘seafood’ restaurant known as Neptune’s. He’d built that chain up from the ground. Starting in a small food truck that would frequent the beach to a multi-award winning restaurant that now had chains in every corner of the bun-filled city.
It had been hard work. But, through his determination and a great team, he became the successful and wealthy entrepreneur he is today. Which was why he could retire and turn to a life of luxury and relaxation.
Dagon sighed and stretched out as he lay down on the sun lounger. He had a large navy yacht with huge white sails and beautiful oak decking. The yacht was his home now. Of course, he had apartments and houses in the city, but this was where he spent most of his time.
On The Aquarius.
The Aquarius was his pride and joy. A beautiful, spacious, and fully equipped yacht. It had everything he could ever need. Fully functional kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, bar, pool - he’d even built in a slide!
“Having fun pops?” Lydia asked as she stepped up onto the deck. Dagon looked over at her and smiled beneath his glorious mustache.
“I am now, where’d Antonio go?” he asked her as she sipped on a mimosa and sat on one of the other loungers. Dagone had invited the pair over for the weekend. Just some healthy fun on daddy’s yacht. He liked entertaining people, and he’d known these two for a few years now after meeting Antonio in Coney’s bar.
“Oh, I think he’s making you a drink, he’ll be up in a bit,” Lydia replied, pulling her sunglasses down over her eyes and leaning back on the sun lounger. She was dressed in a soft orange bikini with a Hawaiian patterned beach skirt around her waist.
“How thoughtful, I was getting a bit parched,” Dagon replied as he fixed the sunglasses that fit barely around his fluffy and tentacle-laced mane on his head. The clinking of ice and the sound of flip flops moments later made him turn his head, looking up at the smiling green-haired succubun as he handed him a whiskey sour.
Antonio had worked at Coney’s as a bartender for a few years and occasionally did shifts at the bar when Elio needed the help. He was very talented at mixing a cocktail - just one of the many things Dagon enjoyed about the other.
“Why thank you, good sir,” Dagon said with a smile as he took the drink and sipped on it happily. Delicious, as always.
“Not a problem, Da,” Antonio called as he walked to his lounger, tail swaying as he walked. He was dressed in a tight pair of black, professional swimming trunks with a lime pattern down the side. He also had on a Hawaiian shirt, patterned similar to Lydia’s skirt, but instead of the blues and greens that filled her skirt, his was a picture of peach and pink colours.
He shrugged it off, though, and quickly tied his ears up and out of his face.
“Coming for a swim?” he asked them both.
“Please, I have better things to do, Ant, like catching a decent tan,” Lydia commented and rolled over onto her back. Antonio rolled his eyes and looked over to Dagon.
“Coming?” he asked him, and Dagon shook his head.
“I’ll watch, might join you in a bit,” he replied, and Antonio shrugged.
“Suit yourselves, I guess.”
With that, Antonio walked to the pool’s edge and dived into the water with a splash. He stayed under, swimming beneath the water for a while before surfacing on the far side of the pool. Dagon watched, a smile resting on his face as Antonio started to do some lengths of the pool.
He felt incredibly lucky in this moment.
In this place.
This was his sanctuary. Filled with people he loved and enjoyed. A world in which he owned and controlled. It brought him an immense amount of pride and truly was his most treasured place in all of Burrowgatory.
Dagon finished his drink and slammed it on the table before getting up. He slipped off his shirt, keeping on just his blue and pink swimming trunks.
Lydia looked over at him as his huge shadow covered her sunshine.
“Awww come on, Dagon…” she started only for him to lift her with ease and make a B line for the pool.
Lydia shouted protests but couldn’t help but laugh as she heard Antonio cheering and Dagon laughing as he plunged them both into the pool.
The group splashed in the pool, swam, dived, and played with a beach ball. Antonio and Lydia occasionally took to the slide, making waves in the pool as they slid into the air and plummeted into the water.
Eventually, they convinced Dagon to use his own slide, and despite the larger bun’s protests, they did get him down the slide. The splash he made was huge! Completely drenching Lydia and Antonio’s faces with fresh water. They all laughed and enjoyed their time together as the afternoon turned into the evening and then into the night, where they all dried off and retired to the bar.
Late-night drinks were a regular occurrence on The Aquarius, and Dagon had a fully equipped bar for them to work with.
“What shall we have tonight?” Antonio asked, now dressed in a maroon silk shirt, black trousers, and black dress shoes to match.
“Ooo, sex on the beach?” Lydia asked, dressed in a teal evening frock with a shimmering appearance.
“Sounds like an appropriate choice,” Dagon agreed, wearing a navy blue suit, a white shirt, and a pink tie.
“Sex on the beach it is,” Antonio replied and began making them all the cocktail of choice. Once the three had their drinks, they clinked glasses and grinned.
“To more nights like this,” Dagon said softly.
“To nights of fun and excitement,” Antonio added.
“To nights with great company,” Lydia finished, and the trio drank.
The night moved on. More drinks were had until Dagon sat on one of the plush luxury couches in the bar.
Lydia was asleep to his right, and Antonio was leaning with his head on Dagon’s lap.
“You alright?” Antonio asked him as he looked up at the larger man.
“Aye, I’m perfect, Antonio, being here just makes everything worth it,” he told him softly and smiled.
The following day Lydia and Antonio were off. Back to the city. To their jobs, to their lives.
“You’re both welcome any time,” Dagon told them as he helped them get their bags into a taxi.
“Don’t worry, Dagon, we’ll be back soon,” Antonio promised, and Dagon nodded.
“I know, safe home, you two,” he instructed, and the pair waved before leaving the other alone with his boat and the marina.
The Aquarius was his favourite place in Burrowgatory.
But at times.
It got a bit lonely.
Had a lot of fun writing this one! My big fish dad mannnnnnnnnnnnn
He loves being alone, he loves the life he's built and his boat but sometimes even your favourite places can be a bit lonely
