A very animated snowglobe

A plain-looking small white box is taken off the wooden shelf in the seasonal winter store. The box is in shape of a cube with perfect square six sides. It is soon paid for and brought to someone's house where it is then set on the table. The tape sealing the opening has been cut and the opening at the top is very carefully pulled to reveal white solid polystyrene  foam that could be removed and there is another piece at the bottom. Beneath is a beautiful sparkling glass sphere nested on ornate gold and silver pedestal. There is a turning key in the back. A hand reaches out to turn the key to animate the lovely snow globe.

 

Inside the snow globe, it is a lovely and crispy winter day. Snow has blanketed the ground with gorgeous shimmer all around. The pond has frozen over beautifully and the ice look especially inviting. There are several evergreen trees circling the clearing with snow beautifully covering the branches. There are several beautifully crafted cedar benches scattered around the lining of the pond. Perfect for sitting down to relax, sip hot drinks or to either put on or take off ice skates. There are few booths near the entrance, one renting out ice skates, one selling hot drinks and one selling warm meals. The sky was lovely blue and had scattered clouds. Snowflakes were falling gently yet it was not frigid nor freezing. Just the perfect day to go ice skating without consequences. That was exactly what several buns and dolls were doing. Two in particular, one greedy and one gluttony. One tanned and skinny, the other lighter skinned and curvy. Both acquaintances and ferrying few imps with them; Remil, Furdin, Phloof and Cygnette. The greedy bun by name of Ballini had chosen to wear long sleeved sparkling icy blue dress with deep V neckline and had ruffles from hips to her middle thighs. It is also backless. Her hair had been pulled back into a high ponytail and ears tied back in low ponytail. The gluttony bun by name of Lethia had chosen to wear a black long sleeved backless dress with red lace covering most of the dress and there were silver straps criss crossing the back. Their hair had been loosely braided.

 

Both of them checked in and got their ice skates; Ballini white and Lethia dark red and they went to one of benches to get them on. As that Ballini had kept her anti-slip socks on, it was easier for her to slip on the skates onto her feet. However, Lethia had rather harder time due to choosing to go with her hooves. Ballini chuckled as the gluttony shifted their hooves into feet and had to get socks to wear with the skates. Soon they were standing on their ice skates and supporting each other as they got used to wearing the skates before slowly stepping onto the glistening icy pond. Soon, Lethia had been left in the dust as Ballini went on ahead as she skated in graceful laps around the pond. However Lethia somehow learned quickly and was skating after Ballini. They did couple of laps together before Ballini broke free to go toward the middle. Soon she was skating in figure eights and doing single jumps that turned into doubles and soon triples. She was also doing standing, sitting and spread spins as well. With every single movement she made, her dress sparkled and glittered as it caught the light. The ruffles moved along with her movements and created stunning illusion of crystalized lights. She would make for perfect porcelain doll on any shelf, perfect addition to any collection. 

 

Their imps were bouncing around along the borders and watching in sheer delight as both Ballini and Lethia skated around the rink and performed in beautiful sync. Lethia's dark dress contrasted beautifully with Ballini's dress. It was almost like day and night, white and black swans. The greedy bun who loved attention on her and collecting gorgeous pieces of fashion for her wardrobe and the gluttony bun who favored collecting books and often forgot where they were at any time. The opposite aesthetics and yet they made for striking scene against the snowy landscape. The albino Phloof and the wintery Cygnette fluttering around the glassy doll from time to time while the default black Remil and Furdin flocked to the more darker doll. 

 

 

This is the ideal scene one would have inside a snow globe. The scene that stood on top of ornate golden with silver accents pedestal and covered in sparkling sphere shaped glass. With a very close inspection it was obvious that there was lot of mechanics and gears worked into the pedestal to provide the animated scene that could easily be played with a simply wind up of the turning key at the back. If one shook the snow globe or turned it upside down and back right way swiftly, it would cause a stunning flurry of snowflakes to flutter around then downwards in swirling fashion.
