Autumn Morning

A soft gust of wind lazily stirred the leaves in front of Eden as he made his way to sit under the large tree, the leaves cushioning the ground just enough to keep him comfortable. He always used to love this time of year, right before the snow came, when all the pretty red and orange leaves fell from their place on the trees, the sky a soft orange hue during the morning and a beautiful red during nightfall. The crisp air flowed through his hair softly, sending a little shiver down his spine. His large comfy brown sweater was bundled around his body keeping him warm while the cup of apple cinnamon tea warmed him from the inside out as he enjoyed his morning. He wasn’t the type for sappy things, he hadn’t truly gotten caught up in ‘tHe BeAuTy Of NaTuResince he was a kid, but this year he had, and he went all out. He bought specialty autumn themed teas and outfits, happily purchasing a pumpkin plushie for his living room couch to decorate his space. He was in a better mood this year, his modeling job paid off for him and his love for aesthetics had come back around again after so many years of not being interested in celebrating the change of seasons.
Pumpkin spice everything got boring fast, but he adored apple, the crisp apple cider he would be served during modeling gigs to keep his thirst quenched during the season was one of his favourites. He also adored cinnamon, cinnamon cookies, cinnamon cakes, cinnamon sugar muffins, all were so tasty and so perfect for this season. There was just something warm and inviting about sweater weather and he was all for it. Perhaps one day he would find someone to share the season with, make large leaf piles and jump in them. He may not be able to find one so late into the season this year, but hopefully he will the next. Eden continued to sip on his tea, going and retrieving a bit more after his first cup had been finished. Once he returned to his spot under the tree, he admired the red and orange leaves falling down all around him, all snug and cozy against the base of the tree he watched the world around him change color as the sun slowly rose, casting the world in a soft yellow glow. The light bounced on all the different leaves around him, truly bringing out their beautiful coloration. He noticed some neighbors had pumpkins decorating their yards, some had scarecrows, others apple and leaf themed decorations, some had wreaths with miniature pumpkins peeking out from behind the foliage. He chuckled, the people around him seemed to love this season a lot, maybe he was starting to like it a lot too. During his observations a couple of his neighbors had decided to come out of their houses, happily soaking in some of the morning with their cups of tea and coffee too, closing their eyes and inviting the autumn air to brush against them.
Eden smiled and took another sip of his tea, finishing the mug as he watched the sun finish rising and his neighbors happily talking amongst themselves, he got up and yawned. This day would be a very lazy one, he would happily get himself back into bed to look up autumn recipes on the internet, maybe find a nice cookie recipe to make for his work friends? Maybe he would even try to find a fling for the next couple of seasons, to take him out on cute autumn/winter dates, it was cuffing season after all... Eden headed inside, taking his mug to the sink to clean it before placing it on the drying rack, happily singing to himself as he walked back to his room, taking off his sweater and climbing into bed to check his phone while snug in his blankets. Today was going to be a great day, he would make sure of it.
