Flatbread Pizza
Love this challenge, Im currently sick and already had these pizza ingredients so this was a perfect comfort food to make <3
My recipe for quick-ish dough pizza (estimated time until you have fresh pizza is 1 and ½ hours)
4dl ish flour (half durum and half tipo-00 recommended, but this particular pizza here is half regular baking flour and half tipo-00)
2dl cold water
1 teaspoon dry yeast
Salt and olive oil to taste, personally couple of teaspoons of salt and a generous splash of oil + another for coating the dough is good.
1. Mix water, 1dl of flour and dry yeast. Mix with your hand until smooth and no clumps. Leave the yeast to do its stuff for about 15 mins, you should have some tiny bubbling action going on.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and knead until the dough is firmish and doesnt stick much to the bowl much, its okay if it still sticks to your hands though. Add some more olive oil to coat the ball of dough. Cover the bowl airtightly and leave to rest for atleast an hour. (You can leave the dough in room temperature for overnight for a vastly better dough, however an hour works if you have no patience like me today lol :D)
3. Preheat your oven to 225-250 celsius. Very important your oven is actually hot before putting your pizza in
4. Prepare your toppings and oven sheet, Ive used premade tomato sauce (mutti my beloved), garlic, oregano, emmental, mozzarella and calamata olives
5. Shape the dough in the desired shape and thickness. For the heart shape I left the crust extra thick to emphasize the shape. Pre bake just the dough for atleast a few minutes so the bottom wont be soggy (this is optional but very much recommended)
6. Take the dough out and add your toppings, bake for about 10-20 mins depending on if you pre baked the dough and how brown you like your pizza, as an optional last step you can brush olive oil on the crust, enjoy!
