"Okay! Slide on behind the counter and I'll show you how to make one of our most popular drinks, and then you can give it a shot yourself." Hops would clasp her hands together as she shot Jackal an enthusiastic smile. It would certainly be an easier night with an extra set of hands around.
The other bun didn't seem quite so enthusiastic about the whole thing. It was just another job to earn some extra carats, nothing more.
The envy bun would step behind the counter, taking her place beside Hop as the bartender retrieved two cocktail glasses, as well as a cocktail shaker and set them on the counter.
"So, first off I'll teach you how to make a Dracquiri. Start off with a rum base like thiiiiis." She would pull a rum bottle from under the counter, pouring some into the shaker before setting the bottle aside.
"Then you'll want to add in some lime juice like so." She'd take a lime from a basket behind the counter, cutting it in half and squeezing it into the shaker.
"Next is sugar and a liiiitle bit of food coloring to give it that red look." The sugar would be measured out and added, then a few drops of red food coloring would be added as well.
"And now stir until the sugar is nice and dissolved~" With a stir stick, the concoction would be thoroughly stirred until the scrape of the sugar was no longer felt.
"Now add in the ice and give it a nice shake!" A scoop of ice would clink into the metal shaker, the lid tightly screwed on. Then Hops would make a little show of shaking the little metal shaker back and forth then up and down.
"Ta-da! Now just pour it in the glass and top it off with a nice decorative strawberry to complete the effect!" The lid would be unscrewed, the newly mixed drink poured into one of the cocktail glasses, a strawberry slid onto the rim of the glass.
"Now you try, Jackal." Hops would slide over another clean cocktail shaker, then motions to the ingredients she'd laid out.
With a slight hesitancy. Jackal would try to mimic what the other bun had just done. It wasn't like it was hard. Just add in the ingredients, mix it around and shake the concoction around a bit.
In a matter of moments, Jackal had a pretty presentable looking Dracquiri made, though the color was a tad bit off.
"Pretty good for a first try at least!" Hops would grin at the other bun, who would only cross her arms and grumble a bit at the praise.
Used Hops and Jackal since I don't have my own yet!
